104.5 talking about Titans should hire Robert Saleh as HC.

Is there another profession where you can fail yet continually be given opportunities and be paid millions?
Would prefer to hire an offensive minded HC to help your young QB. Wouldn't mind hiring Mike McDaniels as OC once he is fired. In that scenario, you can hire a defensive minded HC similar to what Washington did.

Just quoting you for the topic, not your post specifically.

The main problem with this theory is that what is considered an "impactful" penalty only gets decided after the penalty is called.

We get called (rightfully) for OPI, the game gets out of hand, and tinfoil gang looks back on it and says the fix was in.

Bama gets called for the same penalty, makes a play, picks up a first down, and the tin foil gang says it was a meaningless call that was just made to cover their tracks. A meaningless call by refs that can barely keep the rules straight in their head when Bama isn't playing, but are somehow so competent they can fix the games while hiding all statistical evidence while Bama is playing.
This would be a great AI exercise. Many different directions this could go. Types, times, impacts of penalties. Watching footage for consistent standards. Changes in the habits of a particular crew or ref. Many others, I'm sure.

Given the money on it and new emphasis on fraud, somebody would have an interest in this.

I think a Saleh HC and McDaniel OC combo would be a really good outcome. It's very hard to be successful under Jets owner Woody Johnson, who meddles almost as much as Jerry Jones. Saleh had to deal with the A-Rod acquisiton, and Woody basically commanded them to let Aaron run the offense with his people, including horrific OC Nathaniel Hackett. Saleh had the defensive side of the ball for the Jets a top 5 unit, and they identified talent extremely well. You have to have a legit QB to be successful, and he went from ****** Zach Wilson to the corpse of A-Rod. I don't know that any coach would have succeeded there.

That would be a solid combo and agree with what you said about the Jets. That franchise is a mess.
