The New York Post doesn't do a great job refuting anything, lol. You can see in the stats that the entire system saw a 15% decrease, and the fare-free routes saw a decrease of more than double that, but why be honestThe NYP already did a great job of refuting this argument. But the entire system saw a decrease in assaults, not just the fare free. So it’s likely correlation, rather than causation.
Do you believe allowing more homeless and drug addicts on a bus is likely to lead to less physical and verbal assaults? If so, you’re the only person on the planet.

It's public transport.
I can never tell if you’re really dumb or a troll.
Yes, the fare free went down more than the regular. But both went down.
If thing x improves under Trump more than it did Biden, you realize that’s only a sign of correlation. When assessing for causation, one thing you need is a mechanism. For example did Trump sign legislation that impacted x. If there’s no proposed mechanism, the likely answer is “statistical variance”.
So help me understand. What possible mechanism could have lead to this?
If you have none, the answer is it wasn’t this policy that improved the data
But it’s not free public transport. The point is if you make it free, you worsen the clientele. If we make the insane claim that riding the bus is some innate human right; a homeless man sleeping all day on the bus is just exercising his right.
And after this guy destroys the housing market, there will be plenty of homeless to fill each bus
Yeah I have heard that. I don't know. I just don't like Parisians. They are arrogant, smug and in a word assh0les. I have been ripped off twice in cafes there, so it's like California in that I won't ever spend any money there if I can help it. I do like the baguettes though. The wine is hit or miss.
Are you getting an electric car whether you want one or not under Trump? Is government still pushing the trans craze? Was Biden blowing random folks out of the water in South America or threatening Nigeria with military action because he's too dumb to know what's going on there? In New York? Yeah I've come to the conclusion that no matter who is in power they will have no real difference on how New York operates.
I will say that if Mamdani delivers on half the rhetoric he would have an impact, but no real discernable difference in the impacts on daily life save maybe a free bus that free bus is paid for elsewhere.
I've seen no huge difference between the Biden presidency and Trump. My daily life is the same, both have been hard on my wallet and impacted my finances negatively.
The only discernable difference I've seen are rhetoric.
How is your life better or worse today that 2 years ago? We had a disaster(s) brewing under Biden, we have the same with Trump.
Believing one party is better for America right now is akin to believing the Easter Bunny is better than Santa in just about every way imaginable.
