Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

Everything you just said was pure conjecture and projection. None of those things I've said or claimed. Nice try though. That's called a straw man argument.
No, a straw man argument is when you dismiss facts. The facts are we haven't beat a ranked team in 5 consecutive tries. The facts states that we struggled against every SEC team, not named KY. Even allowed them to score way above their season average. I thought you guys loved statistics. You know last season when I was complaining about Banks and y'all were spouting all these stats? Now I use stats and I'm "cherry picking". Which is it? 😅

People didn’t get to start with that it was content provider forcing their subscriptions to raise now after the continuous disputes people are realizing Disney is more to blame then the distributors.

i would love to see one content provider walk away from Disney and offer really cheap rate for a package minus Disney.

i bet they would have lots of takers who don’t watch sports.
Here's the thing: I'm a YouTube TV subscriber. There have been games I haven't been able to find good links for. Missed a big chunk of our game because I couldn't find a good link. But I'll be danged if I'm going to pay a dime more than I already do for ESPN or Disney. I might go get an antenna to watch ABC. Might not. I don't need to watch them that bad really. I'm certainly not going to spend any additional money over what I give YouTube TV already for any Disney-owned product. I bet there are a whole lot of YouTube TV subscribers who feel similar to me.

Lincoln Riley, the Florida Gators fans fallback coach if Kiffin doesn't come, is putting on a marvelous performance assured to not cause any overreaction or "Man, we REALLY have to get Kiffin," on Gator message boards.

The only funny part of any of this is the idea they could hire Riley away from USC.

I actually agree with the exec. I think that guy is describing a bygone era. You can get highlights on YouTube and every social media platform of any sport you want, instantly.

Hardcore fans will watch regardless. Casual fans watch for storylines. Any brain dead moron can just show the games and reruns of highlights. Unfortunately for ESPN, crafting narratives is a skill. And they don't have that skill because they are staffed by people who don't know anything about sports. They still can't help themselves from throwing some chick on the screen of every show who has never played a sport and doesn't know what she's talking about. ESPN's idea of a "story" is some interpersonal ******** that has nothing to do with the game. Taylor Swift for example. The games feel secondary because the company is run by people who don't care about the games.

They might be better off just showing highlights. But ideally, they would just be able to craft sports storylines with their programming that people actually cared about.

Football hate chart...

Tier 1: (lose every game always) Florida, Bama, Georgia
Tier 2: (usually it's the coach) South Carolina, Mizzouri, Vandy, Texas, Kentucky
Tier 3: (fluctuates between Tier 2 & 4) A&M, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, LSU, Auburn
Tier 4: (only wanna see 'em lose when playing us) Miss State, Arkansas
🤔
