I really don't like our chances with Pope going up against Hartline for a WR. We're going to lose those 8 out of 10 times. Even as an OC, he's still the WR's Coach and is on an elite level that Pope will never sniff.

I love how it seems you do the same thing in these types of threads. A committed guys taking visits goes on visits and you think it’s just no big deal. I mean how can you be so naive?

His primary recruiter at Ohio State is Carlos Locklyn. Because they're recruiting him as a RB.

I’ve just accepted that it’s all about the money. If someone else places a higher value on Bey than us and we’re not willing to up our offer to a competitive level then he’s probably gone. We don’t have an unlimited budget so choices have to be made when building a team. Our WR talent is looking great ATM, so maybe the staff wants to allocate more money to bolster position groups that don’t look as robust? Still hope we get him!

It's relationships, plan, culture, winning, and facilities.

Not true. Everyone has different rosters with different needs. Doubt anyone has unlimited money to throw at every good player that shows an interest. We’re solid at WR and need significant help at other positions ATM.

If you view him higher than Keys and King then that’s cool and we could cut one of those guys loose and reallocate that money to keep Bey? But, that’s a different issue than we’ve been discussing which is we shouldn’t over allocate the budget to a position group if we’re already strong there - your building a whole team not just getting the best player
