New York City

That is 1/3 of "registered voters" nationwide, not 1/3 of people who actually go to the polls and vote and most certainly not people who do that for a mayoral election. That article is about f***ing Congresspeople, of course many don't know who their local representative is. Please actually read the things you're citing
I am sorry I could not find an article covering the knowledge base of an election that literally just happened. without an impossibly specific set of data to please you I defaulted to the available data I could find. apologies.

It helps minority parties and helps voters that want to vote outside of the major parties. Certainly doesn't hurt voters. It's the most innocuous thing to get randomly upset about, and most people wouldn't be except that they started off outraged via Elon and feel the need to double down
I didn't even read Elon's tweet. I was responding to comments here. I have provided enough commentary where it should be pretty clear I wasn't relying on a tweet to justify my feelings.

except it doesn't help voters vote outside the major party. they are still voting for the major party guy. its irrelevant if he shows up in two different parties. he is still the major party guy who gets to also claim additional parties at will to increase those who vote for him without being tied to anything politically.

like lets say Nancy Pelosi runs for office as a Dem and a Member of the Unicorn Rainbow Farts Party. is a vote for her really helping the Unicorn Rainbow Farts Party? Or is it helping Nancy Pelosi and the Dems expand their base just due to association?

Play dumb all you want but we both know there is a massive difference between "1/3 of adults don't know their local representative's name" (duh, probably even higher) and "1/3 of people who took time out of their day to wait in line to vote FOR MAYOR in the most publicized 2025 election in the country don't know who the mayoral candidates are." Anything above like 5% should have set off an obvious BS meter in your head

It doesn't expand her base. It's people who went in to vote for Pelosi and have two different avenues to do it. There isn't some waiting bloc of voters from the Unicorn Rainbow Farts Party that Pelosi now gains through "association," and even if there were, the "association" is that their party endorsed that candidate - just like any other political party. Every Pelosi voter will have their vote counted for Pelosi, whether or not they support the Democrat Party. You keep trying to explain why it's not "better" for voters but can't explain why it's worse for them, because it isn't

Actually, the last time I went to Paris I got a really bad case of salmonella. It took two different courses of antibiotics to kill.

And French food is overrated anyway

I'll take a good bowl of real ramen over anything I've had in Paris
Pity, there's some good food there. I got sick from some rice pudding in Toulouse once. I was told that's what I got for eating English food, should have had the creme brulee.

I never cared for European food, some of the plain German food was okayish. Beer and wine was good.

Paris is kind of like New York, a dump. You definitely pay attention while riding the metro and make sure of what stop you are on because at one point we got off and I thought were took a train straight to the poorest part of Africa. Most of the German towns and cities are well kept, at least when I lived there.

I wished I would have spent more time in Ireland and Scotland, before...

I'm not a big fan of German food. Too much meat. After a day or two of Swinehocks and schnitzel I just want a nice salad.

Yeah I wonder why they don't.

Generally, they are going to hate you unless you conform, you don't necessarily have to do anything in particular other than not being a religious nut. The other part which I think you are implying has to do with the neocons and to a lesser extent Trump. I hold out hope Trump will stay out of all this nonsense.

As for them, they would like you dead if possible and given the opportunity. THE END.

if its playing dumb, then surely you can provide the actual data since I am too dumb to find it.

The voters in the original Brexit vote didn't know it meant leaving the EU. you ask most women how they feel about women's suffrage and they will be against it.

I have dealt with way too many public meetings to ever think highly of someone just because they are "Involved". I think its a fair assumption if they come to public meetings they are probably voting. If you have ever seen Parks and Rec, their representations are barely satire.

I'd say it's pretty much totally because of our Neocons and their puppets. I've known some Iraqis and some Syrians and they're a whole lot more civilized and gracious than most Americans.

I did explain it. at the very least its misleading and gives cover to the politicians. that is definitely worse for the voters.

you barely even touched most of the political issues I raised, I can only remember you addressing #8. the rest you just dismissed which is hardly indicative of having an argument against it.

you didn't even address the issues I raised with the very basics of data collection.

Its not.

The solution remains the same... they stay there, we stay here... problem solved as a generalization.

It's not misleading. If you fill in the oval for Zohran, whether you pick one or do both, he gets one vote. It doesn't grant any political cover whatsoever.

I ignored most of it because it read as just throwing theoretical things at the wall, focused on poking nonsensical holes rather than even trying to understand how the system actually works. "The very basics of data collection" culminating in a point that a full ONE THIRD of voters won't know any candidate and will just randomly make the ballot into a coloring book, or something, is a good example of that

Yeah I have heard that. I don't know. I just don't like Parisians. They are arrogant, smug and in a word assh0les. I have been ripped off twice in cafes there, so it's like California in that I won't ever spend any money there if I can help it. I do like the baguettes though. The wine is hit or miss.
