Well, not what we wanted vs. the Sooners (Who I can't find any reason to hate, good for them!). Likely NOT going to make the CFP, and I was looking for our schedule next season.
We get to host:
Bama
Auburn
Kentucky
LSU
Texas
We have to visit:
Arkansas
South Carolina
Texas A&M
Vanderbilt
I don't know... the road schedule is tough with Texas A&M and Arkansas. Other than that, we got this.
I cannot overemphasize how much I need Tennessee to win that Texas game. I'll be there too, Texas friends in tow. I've had to endure the "real UT" and the "which shade of orange is right" chatter with my Texas football friends for twenty five years. They're coming to our house with their big money roster and their Manning and I cannot afford to lose that one out the gate. I'll never hear the end of it otherwise.
Pavia isn’t anything anyway lol. He is gritty but he is way overrated. He has benefited from a great staff and team Lea has put together. My opinion of course.Out of the nine sec teams, we play three teams (Auburn, LSU, Arky) that will have first year head coaches.. have to win those three. Beamer will be on the hot seat, Stoops will likely be gone at UK.. this is honestly a favorable schedule given the state of the teams we will play. Also, Vandy will no longer have Pavia and is essentially a home game.
next year's schedule is CAKE compared to 2027. 2026 will probably be the easiest schedule UT has for many years to come. That schedule next year is gonna drive me to drink.
Absolute brutality.
Only saving grace is that the road schedule is not as horrible as it could be. We're gonna drop multiples at home though.

Tennessee roster will be younger next season than this season... Don't know about the other teams they play.
69% of this season's roster is freshmen and sophomores..
LSU, Auburn, Arkansas (New Coaches) and South Carolina will probably better next year. TX will still be very good with Manning having another year under his belt. A&M will be a big challenge too. Vandy won't be as good and we don't have Florida or UGAWell, not what we wanted vs. the Sooners (Who I can't find any reason to hate, good for them!). It seems crazy to say that, but look at the following years. Majority of the big games at home next year. Get Arky, Carolina, Vandy, Kentucky. LSU and Auburn under a first year coach. It’s as favorable as you could hope for imo.
It's fine...9-3 teams from the SEC will be in the playoffs when it expands, so it's not as huge as some people are making it out to beIt seems crazy to say that, but look at the following years. Everyone is going to hate this 9 game schedule. Brutal year after year.
In this league, we just can't start making home losses a regular thing. White/Heupel can't survive that. It's sure to lead to some 6-6 or worse, losing seasons. Fans wanted all these great match ups and an elimination of these easier games. Well, they get their wish next year. Let's see how much folks enjoy it. In this portal era, you can't build depth anymore and a meat grinder of a schedule will surely lead to more and more injuries. Then again, the kids today won't play with a boo boo so just being "hurt" or "banged up" will have our guys sitting on the sidelines. That schedule next year is gonna drive me to drink.
Absolute brutality.

So we play Arky 3rd year in a row and they are not one of our 3 permanent opponent , seems weird.Well, not what we wanted vs. the Sooners (Who I can't find any reason to hate, good for them!). Likely NOT going to make the CFP, and I was looking for our schedule next season.

you keep saying this like you're going to manifest it into existence. it ain't damn happening ever (until the playoffs are expanded to 16 teams). It's fine...9-3 teams from the SEC will be in the playoffs when it expands, so it's not as huge as some people are making it out to be
