You hit the nail on the head. Baylor was the first to score 55 and won. Kara reminds me of Kellie. Both are resistant to change. In Kara's case, having a great defense is simply not enough. Duke needs also to emphasize offense. Just think, if Duke gets an offense that consistently scores 65 points per game, Duke would be very dangerous.

Duke is a solid Top 20-25 team. They could focus on making the offense more balanced but I’m not sure that’ll result in them scoring 65 points consistently against the top teams. I also think some of the more talented teams could have success against Duke defense.

Vandy doesn’t have the athletes to even compete with the top SEC teams this season. I don’t think if Pierre had stayed Vandy would’ve been much better than a Top 20-25 team.

She is actually playing defense this year and looks much improved, even playing in the paint. 6 rebounds, 2 blocks, 2 assists and a steal. Finally playing to her size better, now if she can get her shooting % up some. She looks like she belongs.

So far it has been a mediocre start to the WBB season. This isn’t necessarily unexpected with the matchups today.
I don’t expect much of anything from Vandy this season.
Ole Miss could be decent but I believe they took a step back from last season with losing Madison Scott and some of the other players.
Baylor beat Duke but Duke was overrated as a Top 10 team.

Vandy will likely not be ranked once conference play gets underway, the loss of Pierre was huge. They have some nice players outside of Blakes, just not enough of them and tbh the surrounding cast as a whole will be underwhelming in SEC play. Ralph is a good coach, but this won’t be a tourney team unless I am way off here, which is possible but I don’t see it. The SEC will be brutal this year for teams that aren’t tourney level in overall talent. Vandy takes a step back this year imo.

They’re very one dimensional at the moment. It’s possible they could get Washington going and have a few good games. Overall I agree that they will not be a player in the SEC this year.

Blakes is hard to stop but even if she scores 40 the supporting cast they have can’t do enough to get them over the hump.
