South Carolina over North Carolina in an exhibition game 91 to 82
SC was up 19 in the fourth. I don’t know what to expect from them this season, they only have ten healthy players (only 9 available in this scrimmage). Their once vaunted annually top rated defense in the nation won’t be at that level this year, nor will their usual large rebounding advantage. This team plays more of a perimeter game for large stretches. So far the 3pt shooting outside of Tessa Johnson is looking less than ideal and the bench is relying on a couple of bigs that have not proven yet that they can play D1 at a high level. I could see this team taking a step back from teams of the past 10-12 years, I wouldn’t bet any money on them winning the conference although I believe they will be in the thick of it if Okot is one of the better centers in the SEC and if the two freshman can be significant contributors. That is a lot of ifs, and tbh I’m not feeling it with this team so far. Latson and Edwards will have to shoulder big loads imo. CDS has to do her best job yet managing this team if they are to get to their 6th straight FF, I’m not seeing it right now.

I think the SEC is wide open. I like what I’m seeing from Tennessee, South Carolina, and Texas. Oklahoma or LSU will be in the mix with that group.
And it’s funny to hear a poster mention this but there’s no reason for anyone to be underestimating LSU. Calling out facts isn’t underestimating a team.
Everyone can clearly see that LSU has no true post player that can highly impact rebounding nor be a consistent scoring threat. Jersey in her one game with Tennessee looked like a completely different player than she did last season with LSU. Also, LSU lacks a natural point guard.
In addition to being severely undersized as a team. LSU is one of the smallest teams in the SEC this season. They are playing a freshmen at the 4 spot that was recruited to be a SG and stands at 5’11 or 6’0 and doesn’t have much size.
LSU is about the 4th or 5th best team in the SEC.

Kate Koval has the tools to be a really good post player, I expect her to have a big year. LSU is going to play a bunch of 4 guard sets this season anyway, they have the players to make that work.

You didn’t have this much to say when the No.2 …nevermind lol.
Thanks for the most honorable advice chicken fan.

Maybe try watching a bit before you make declarations. Koval is an extremely capable post, Joyner also. Watch and learn something maybe

When a story has a BUT after the good news watch out!

Kelli Harper has had a good first year recruiting with two top 60 Prospects List recruits and several other supporting players.

At the SEC meeting she spoke of speed dating on the portal and those dates, now players NEEDED all the new recruits to "add something."

BUT the exhibition game against a level II Maryville Mo team they started 16-0 but throughout the game playing all the roster they lost in overtime. a picture of the frustrated coach was included with the newspaper report on the game.

trilight I so remember the current Ole Miss coach after a losing to LVs by a significant margin, one of many her first year as she remained her poise. But now in her eighth season with many good teams and wins.

Duke/Baylor on ESPN at noon.

Arrggg ESPN/Disney! Im a You Tube TV subscriber so Im scrambling. Currently riding a Fubo free trial thru tomorrow. After that, not sure what I’ll do if the dispute is not worked out. One thing I won’t do at least right now is give in to the machine and switch over to Hulu/Disney. Main reason I have YouTube over Hulu anyway is because of Hulu’s lack of portability. I wanna watch wherever I am, watched last summer from Ireland on YT TV. That would never happen with Hulu.

But like with all these rage against the machine struggles, it’s fruitless. Inevitably I’m afraid I’ll have to go to Hulu because Disney is most certainly going to do to every carrier what they’re currently doing to YT TV.

Baylor is looking solid, i still think their coach is a horrible in game coach. Duke just looks uninterested. Their defense isn’t up to lawson standards.

Ole Miss had an interesting 1st half. They added a lot of players via the portal but I haven’t seen yet how these players will improve that team.
It seems they still need a player that can facilitate and run the offense to create for others to score.
