Of course, we could lose to the GATAS and Vandy. My expectation is we lose to my most hated rival (GATAS) and beat Vandy.8-4 or 9-3 is what we were expected to be this year. I’m good, could have won a game against UGA, could have lost a a game against State. So be it, just love life and be thankful for today.
Haha true! If Heupel couldn’t be criticized then we would always be undefeated. If you aren’t winning every game, you have things to change. And no one wins every game and everyone always has things to change. It amazes me how many think he is perfect and just allow every short fall. We all love Heupel and think he is good, but he has a lot to fix too.No one. It's if you are critical, you automatically want him fired. Just the way it is.
"Dang! I wish Josh had called timeout"
"Why do you want him fired? Do you not know where we've been the last 15 years?"
FF have mercy on us all. And I’m pretty vocal. LolI didn't say you did, you have asked for staff changes., which I agree with. I do t know if anyone in the RF has, but there were people in the FF saying it. I know it's the FF , bit it's still part of our base.
I’ve thought the same thing. Call me old fashioned but the pomp is cheap thrills.I think it was said best by an OU fan actually. He said, "Tonight was like a 4 hr concert with a football game in-between to watch." He said it as a compliment but it made me wonder if all of the glitz and glammor of "the show" drains the crowd enough to not have the same consistent roar we are so accustomed too. I get the way the game played out is a factor but fans can only give out so much energy for 4 hours straight.
Been waiting to say this. Danny is an alpha and Type A winner. He demands winning and at a high level. It’s why I think football will be the main priority this year and he will force Heupel to make changes. He demands competing for championships in every sport and I love it. I’m more afraid of losing Danny than I am Heupel and I like both lolDW wants to win period!
Yes, but it’s a trend with this team. Turnovers and sloppy play that’s keeping them being undefeated. Right when we can take control, we have a turnover of a couple bad series. It’s frustrating as hell and it happens every game. We should have blown out MSU, OU, and Arkansas and we barely won two and lost one. I can’t say if it’s all coaching or mostly on the players. I think it’s both and why we need some tweaks to take the next step.I still think the game would have unfolded completely different if we had gone up 14-0 instead of it being 7-7. A 14-point swing is always a backbreaker for the entire team.
Wiping away our impending TD + getting one of their own allowed OU to calm down and settle in, while our team panicked over it. Completely changed the tone of the game compared to what 14-0 would have done.
One year since mom passed suddenly. It’s going to be a day. I took the afternoon off.Happy Monday. Prayers for anyone struggling today.
November 3, 2025: When you are having a really rough day, you must quiet your soul, and refuse to get flustered. God is your very present help in times of trouble. Lean on Christ and trust that He will show you the way through. The Lord will never leave nor forsake you. Deuteronomy 31:8 The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.
DW wants to maximize AD revenues. That's what he's paid to do. Winning is the path to his goal. I seriously doubt he wants/needs to win badly enough to fire a consistent 9 win coach, until and unless that starts affecting AD revenue. And given that more programs fail to exceed that level than those who do (see also: LSU, UF, FSU, etc.), the odds don't support the risk.DW wants to win period!
Yes, and it sucks. And this loss killed the season, I’m extra pouty right now.Informal poll:
When the Vols win, I can’t soak up enough Vols content. Listen to the multiple post game pods, after game reports, read all the post game reactions etc
When the Vols lose, I basically pout and don’t listen to or read anything.
Anyone else like this?
In person, I felt Joey was forcing passes after the fumble.I still think the game would have unfolded completely different if we had gone up 14-0 instead of it being 7-7. A 14-point swing is always a backbreaker for the entire team.

Murph was my favorite player growing up. Those were lean years in ATL.Put Dale & Donnie in the HOF

Hall of Fame unveils 8-player Contemporary Baseball Era Committee ballot
Barry Bonds and Roger Clemens are among the eight players on this year’s Era Committee ballot unveiled Monday by the National Baseball Hall of Fame. Bonds, Clemens, Carlos Delgado, Jeff Kent, Don Mattingly, Dale Murphy, Gary Sheffield and Fernando Valenzuela comprise the Contemporary Baseball...www.mlb.com
Dale Murphy, OF
Of the top 13 position players in bWAR during the 1980s, Murphy is the only player not in the Hall of Fame. His 47.1 bWAR in the decade ranks 10th among that crew. No one had more total bases during the decade than Murphy’s 2,796, and his 308 homers were the second most. He cracked 36 home runs in 1982 and ‘83 and was feted as NL MVP after each season.
Don Mattingly, 1B
Mattingly spent his entire 14-year career with the Yankees and was one of the best hitters of the 1980s. During that decade, he garnered his six All-Star Game selections, won a batting title as well as an MVP Award, led the AL in hits twice and captured his three Silver Sluggers. A .307 lifetime hitter, Mattingly was slowed by injuries during the back half of his career, but he still earned four Gold Gloves in his final seasons, giving him eight total.
Oklahoma's front 7 was legit. They literally whipped us at the line of scrimmage. Joey made some bad decisions, but what quarterback doesn't struggle when getting hammered consistently. I actually think Oklahoma will give Alabama fits and won't be surprised if they somehow pull out a win. I don't think Alabama can run on them and we will see how Ty Simpson is under pressure. Not sure Oklahoma will score much that game either but they have a very good defense which tends to keep you in the game. Venables is also one of the brightest defensive minds in the game. One thing is clear. Having run stuffing DT’s is the key to slowing down our offense. Allows LBers to drop in TE and middle screens and safeties to stay deep.
