There is still a chance at a 10 win season with a bowl game win. Why? I’m not being a sunshine pumper but there’s still some stuff to play for this season—like winning in Gainesville for the first time in 20 years, possibly playing spoiler to Vanderbilt’s playoff hopes, finishing 9-3 rather than 7-5 and possibly losing recruits, etc.

No one knows if either of these 2 QB's will be here next year.
You play to win every game this year. Next year will be here and you play to win every game that season.
Jesus people are dumb as rocks. If I'm a senior and I see you trying out an unproven QB for experience next year,Id be pissed and voice my opinion loudly

What's very concerning to me about Hype, this is his 5yr and not one of his qb recruits has started a game. Concerning about his evaluation of qb. All of Hypes starters have been transfers.. if Heup could actually hit on a five star that operated his system as well as Hooker or Joey has. Accuracy and quick decision making has not been a trait of our top Qb recruits so far.
Because Merk is widely believed to transfer out this offseason. Which I don’t know why he’s getting 7 figures to ride the bench if Heupel isn’t gonna at least see if he has any potential to be a starter here long term.
Just lighting money on fire.
We aren’t beating Florida in the swamp and will be lucky to get Vandy but hope springs eternal so think what you wantThere is still a chance at a 10 win season with a bowl game win.

I think the era of 5* QBs being heavily recruited by the big schools and paying high NIL may be coming to an end.You think we would eventually hit on a five star QB living up to that hype, lol.

If you're spending big money, may as well spend on a experienced QB with 2yrs of eligibility and spend the other NIL on 5* players that are able to play Day 1 in other positions unless something can be done about the portal
He9-3 does nothing for the program. Heupel has officially regressed for the first time here.
We have a bye week, a pay for game. Matthews and Staley will be here next year. Time to get live reps with Merk and GMac and start planning for the future.
Players get paid now. This is a business.
If we don't we would have at least tried, Mac has not been given a chance to see what he can do. It was said coach wanted him to put on some weight before playing, meaning there was no way, regardless of how he practiced he was going to be the starter. Since this season is gone, anyways, why not give him a chance? I am meaning gone as far as playoff is concerned. Me nor you know how Mac would do because we have not seen enough of him. I do know he wants to be at UT and was highly sought after. I just think it would be good to see how he does in a live game. There's no reason for me to think playing either of those guys now would mean 11-1 next year.
Not really. He lost one of the top QB’s in the country, two starting WR to the draft. 2023 was very much a rebuilding year because of all the folks we lost to the NFL. No one in their right mind had 2023 as a “rebuilding” year off the back of a playoff season. He
Offensively, Tennessee significantly regressed and 2023 compared to 2022.
