The Official #14 Tennessee vs. #18 Oklahoma Game Thread, 7:30 PM ET, ABC

Yep. In the real world, once you realize that the guy you hired can’t do a job, you move on to the next person. You don’t just keep paying him in hopes that he’ll get better. Simply being better than Pruitt should not be the only requirement for the Tennessee head coach.
Who you gonna get to replace him?

I’m officially off of the Heupel train. He’s a loser that is acceptable of mediocrity and accepts a pathetic DC without considering an upgrade. Banks will take Heupel down because Heupel allowed it. This loss is beyond disgusting. There is no excuse. Heupel is a loser. A mediocre coach at best. I seriously hope the my Vols lose the remaining of their games to that Danny White forces Heupel to grow a set to fire his DC, DB, and WR coaches. This team is hard to watch as a result of their ability to allow lesser teams a chance to win. Vanderbilt will kick out butts. This has been a disgusting night of football.
This is angry. I’m a fan.

Our offense lost this game. I don’t know why we didn’t just kick the ball away with 2 timeouts. Pin them deep. Our D was stopping them good in the first half and our offense just squandered away opportunities and gives them gifts. We had opportunities to put the Sooners in an early bind and we let them off the hook with gifts and blunders. The Sooners got an early Christmas gift tonight.
They didn’t get a Christmas gift, they whipped our ass. Pure and simple

There is no reason for Aguilar to play another game. With 3 losses, this year is over. It’s time for Heupel to see what he has with Merk and Mac. The last thing Heupel can do is go into Year 6 breaking in a new QB with no real experience.

You’re crazy if you think Heupel is going to tank the rest of the year to get a back up some experience

It’s obvious how bad the offense has regressed.
Pretty much lost the entire offense from last year and still one of the top offensive teams in the nation. Tonight’s disappointing but I’d rather it happen now than in a year or two when it really matters. We weren’t winning any championships this year. I know, I know, optimistic we get to that point but I still believe. This game, actually this entire season was a series of disasters. A tragicomedy. It’s not a reflection of the big picture. I mean who the hell kicks 3 fifty yard field goals.

Mack Brown. Brian Kelly. Billy Napier.
I wouldn't touch any of those. You think 3e are playing badly now, just let one of them show HOW BAD we could be. Our QB is very good or not good at all. The defense showed it can play well even when the offense stunk the place up and a new coach would do no better unless they played the best athlete regardless of experience. The young guys showed tonight that they are ready to play to win.

Agreed, remember where we have been since Fulmer was fired. We need Heuple to do better and be better. If he wants to be here, he needs to prove it. Because, he had a pass for a long time. He should be earning what he is paid, he is not and he should be ashamed.

We aren’t winning any championships next year, year after that and so on.

We should have won this game, but didn’t deserve to win it. We had more yards, more 1st downs, only 3 penalties, our defense only gave up 2 touchdowns. They had to kick 4 field goals, 3 from over 50 yards. Despite all of that we turned the ball over 3 times, missed what should have been an easy field goal, made bad play calls, mismanaged the clock and dropped critical passes.

Every SEC game we find ways to beat ourselves or almost beat ourselves.
