That unnecessary roughness is absolutely the right call, but damn if that isn't one of the most avoidable penalties I've seen this season. From 4th and 9 to 1st and 10 close to field goal range, SMU driving with 1:08 left and down three.

Not gonna start another thread but the duke/clemson officiating crew may be more corrupt/incompetent than the auburn/UGA crew.
What officiating crew in college football isn’t corrupt and incompetent? I mean we know any crew that’s officiating a TN game is just automatically bad. But which crews are actually good?

This game doesn't surprise me one bit. Mario Cristobal losing games he shouldn't is par for the course. Year after year he finds a way to lose just enough to miss the playoffs. It is who he is. He gives his teams no edge. He just is good at recruiting kids *cough* pay them the most money *cough* to go there and screw up.
