ESPN/ABC just went out on YouTube TV [11/14 it's back!!!]

YoutubeTV is already $83/month. I canceled two days ago. I love having live sports, but you kinda have to have ESPN if you're gonna charge me $83 for that.
In the long run, I agree. But I’m prepared to figure something else out for a few weeks in hopes they can come to an agreement. Their UI and seamless DVR features are simply light years beyond what any of the other live tv streaming services currently offer.

And Disney knows that which is why they're holding up YTTV. They know damn well it's by far the best streaming service.

I agree, but what is the point if they don't have ESPN? That's SEC sports and NBA. It's 50% of what I watch

Which is why it sucks that one company has been able to get a complete monopoly on SEC coverage and about a 75% share of college football as a whole. Rather than keep pace technologically, they can just do stupid strong arm stuff like this and continue to get away with having an app so s****y that it doesn’t even have the ability to do something as simple as jumping back 10-15 seconds, a function that has been standard on any decent DVR service for nearly a quarter century now.

this is just proof that Disney has no interest in working with YouTube TV
Yep. They're hoping YTTV customers leave and sign up on Hulu since Disney owns them.

I signed up with Directv Streaming this morning and am impressed so far. The picture quality is probably a little better since they don't use as much compression.

The guide and interface aren't perfect but I'll stay with them if this dispute isn't settled during the 5-day trial you get for signing up now.

If this is still ongoing in a few weeks when my next billing cycle hits, I’ll be ready to start reevaluating things. For now, I’m not ready to throw the baby out with the bath water after less than 48 hours.

I have the ESPN app because I got it last year to watch Tennessee basketball games that weren't on other channels. so I have ABC for today. it's still not the same because I don't have DVR capability. I like going back to watch the game the next day

Cancelled YouTubeTV, Subscribed to To Disney+ with HULU and ESPN Unlimited. Half the price of YouTubeTV Basic and I have the games back. Rest of the family will be happy to have other options.
I pretty much hate both equally. We'll see how this works out. 😊

I have it until my billing cycle ends on the 25th. I fully expect them to resolve it and I'll cancel my cancellation. There is no satellite to take down or cable to cut. You just toggle a setting.

Ordered an antenna on Amazon yesterday, it was on my front porch at 8 am. $20. I refuse to give Disney a nickel directly.
The $20 antenna I picked up at Best Buy works beautifully for ABC and other local channel stations here in Memphis. I imagine the drawback would be that you’d need to be in range of a city with an ABC affiliate.

Agree, their interface is much better than the rest. I just cancelled YouTubeTV and picked up Disney+ with the ESPN Unlimited. Chances are that I will go back to YouTubeTV if they can work out a deal.
