Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

There is zero doubt, my brother. And honestly, it makes it easier for me to deal with the fact something I used to care very much about, means less to me and is probably only going to continue to mean less as the product gets worse and all the inevitable consequences of the greed of everyone with their hands in the pot in CFB come to bear. Which they will. I know a lot of folks like to carry on like they don't have to suffer the consequences of their own bad actions, but I know how it really works.
Rants incoming:

VN search "greed" and my username to see how I feel about the path college football is on.

The consumer has to pay for everything involved with college athletics in some way or another. It's like our government, politicians don't have any money, they have money from taxes they took off you and me, and they tax everything coming and going. The government is shut down right now because the 2 sides can't agree on the best way to waste my money.

Everything is consumer funded.

That's why the "pAy ThE MaN whATevEr hE waNTs!" crowd is so annoying. Most of them don't understand why their entertainment services keep going up yearly. They caused the rate increase and it's because they wanted to win a ball game.

The coaching buyouts, athlete/coach salaries (across all sports), and NIL are so out of whack, it'll have to "break" before it can be fixed.

Gambling on amateur sports should be illegal. (IMO..... betting on all sports should be illegal but that's just me. It's too easy for a player, coach, referee to fix a game.)

I get it..... money is about the only thing ownership can negotiate and intice players/coaches with but nobody needs more than $3 or 4 million a year to live on, a lot of pro players are making close to $1 million per month. Professional teams have salary caps and contracts, but there's nothing being done about college coaches/athletes. They just keep adding more $$$$$ on top of everything.

Consumers are getting "wrung" out over sports...... SPORTS!!!

Our game with Georgia Tech next year is no longer a neutral site game in Charlotte. It is now a true road game at Bobby Dodd stadium in Atlanta.

I don't think it was scheduled to be in Charlotte to begin with. I live just south of Charlotte and as far as I know the only game we have on the agenda in Charlotte is vs West Virginia in 2028.

Anyone else hopes Texas beats the breaks off of Vanderbilt this weekend?

Little brother has a small taste of a respectable season and they're fans have become insufferable on the twitter machine.

probably better for us if vandy wins so our W against them works for cfp but god i want them dead

Isn't the problem that everyone and everything is down Brawley?
Just when I can’t think there is no room left to build the city council approves a 150+ unit apartment complex for a postage stamped piece of property.

Mind you my lot is on a private dirt road and bought when Brawley was 2 lanes with no plans to widen. I bought in 1996…so much for buying so far out of Mecklenburg and Charlotte traffic.

I hate vandy but the sooner Tejas realizes they don't belong in the SEC the better. They came in cocky and they need to be humbled. I hope them, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, mizzu, all go back to the Big12.... or whatever.
