Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

I bet they suck, but 99% of THC gummies suck, for lightweights that can't handle smoking weed, imo. Now, I did do some really good gummies, this week, but I, also smoked while taking 'em, so it was probably the combination of both
Can't handle smoking weed? That is top level stupid.

You know what would be even funnier? Kiffy poo stays put at OM, Dink a roo goes to UF, Joe Brady bunch remains an NFL guy, Clark Leann is anchor down for life, and Jon Summersalt starts to yell woo pig sooie at Arkansas. Sorry, I ran out of ideas for stupid alt names for coaches. LSU might be destined for the Mullet.
My bet is that LSU will make a hard run at Joe Brady. He was the real secret sauce in their last Natty.

Here's the thing: UF fans are threatening to revolt if it's Drink. Here's another thing: Drink wouldn't leave Mizzou for that job.

There are dozens of reasons why Mizzou is a better job including the expectations are more in line with the available resources and that the resources themselves are more vast than the coffers at UF.

Mizzou has Walmart money. Several Waltons went to Mizzou.

When comparing jobs, if you're looking at where a coach has the best chance to succeed, the #1 thing you want to look at is the available NIL resources to spend on a roster.

Revenue sharing is pretty equal across the board. There are rumors Kentucky is spending more than the rest of the league on basketball, but their roster doesn't exactly bear that out. I think there's a ton of gaslighting of UK basketball fans to keep that money machine churning because the reality is they are not going to be able to compete at the level they have historically. Cal thought Arkansas was a better job. And then he lost good players in the portal but still probably has a better roster than UK. It would not make economic sense to do that even at Kentucky. They are not making as much money off of Basketball as they are Football. It's a no-brainer better place to put money.

I've never heard of any Waltons giving to any football NIL funds.

At Mizzou? My guy, this is not a secret. I'm not suggesting it based on feels.

Edit: it's going to be hard to nail down exactly what they are giving to NIL (as it would who gives to Spyre) but they are absolutely supporting it and Mizzou is reaping the benefits. There's also a ton of money in the Kansas City area from businesses and third parties that aren't necessarily alumni of Mizzou, but several Waltons are.

Reactions: Ulysees E. McGill
Out of curiosity who started the rumor he was sandbagging and just waiting to go to the NFL? Was that a Basilio special?
No one of consequence (that I saw). And I do not know what Basilio did/didn’t have to say.

What I did see, from multiple sources of import (SF, LWS, Hubbs) was the mention that there were “some” allegedly “in his camp” that were encouraging him to sit for the draft.

None of the above in any way implies:
- McCoy doesn’t want to play (I believe he does)
- Medical has cleared him to play (they haven’t)
- McCoy is listening to those voices (I hope he’s not)

But it’s currently en vogue to take any news of McCoy practicing and throw out some variation of - “where are the people that said McCoy was ‘holding out’”?

Well, they’re not here. They never were.
McCoy was never “holding out” - that was always an incoherent narrative, completely detached from logic and reality.

CJH has repeatedly proven he can field competitive teams with a roster that has issues. It's amazing what he's done.

The question now is why is he building a team out of a pick-a-part junkyard in year 5?

If he figures out how to assemble (and keep together) a deep talented team with very few holes in the roster we'll be unstoppable.
Sigh. Here we go again. Yes I have this saved just for guys like you. Once again here is what Heupel has had to recruit against.....

Five years of probation.
-reduction of 120 evaluation days throughout the probationary period.

-Reduction of 28 football scholarships throughout the probationary period, with a minimum of two scholarships per year.

-Reduction of 36 football official visits during the probationary period, including at least four visits per year. Tennessee will prohibit official visits for a total of 10 regular-season home games, four of which must involve SEC opponents.

-Reduction of 40 weeks for football unofficial visits during the probationary period, with a minimum of six weeks per year. Tennessee will prohibit unofficial visits for 10 regular-season home games, including four against SEC opponents.

-A 28-week ban on recruiting communications during the probationary period, including at least three weeks per year. This includes one week each in December and January, and one week between March and June. Remember when Lagonza Hayward said he decommitted because Tennessee didn't talk to him for a whole week? They literally couldn't because of the last coaching staff

That's SEVEN MONTHS where Tennessee hasn't been allowed to talk to or even text recruits over Josh Heupel's tenure. Also I'm not even including the fact that we had to pay a fine of 3% of our entire football budget which equals to about $6 million plus a penalty of $8 million.

Really try to absorb how this could affect recruiting. If you don't understand the importance of evaluation, official visits, or communication in recruiting, please ask questions. The fact that we have averaged 10 wins a season for 3 years after inheriting all of these sanctions from a guy who won THREE games his last season (worst season in Tennessee history) is astounding. Give it a little more time. Heupel brought us out of the ashes against all odds. I really think he's going to get it done here eventually.

Not to mention, his first recruiting class was assembled in January.

Tennessee had a bad reputation with recruits from Pruitt.

There were questions if this offense could put out NFL prospects.

There were questions of this offense could work in the SEC.

Now, We have shown adaptability, the ability to pay players, and compete at a very high level. It took 3 years for us to get a good reputation now that we do Blue chippers are coming at a higher clip
