If it's fixable wth hasn't it been fixed?
It’s a 13 phase plan. They’re on phase 7 now, which is killing offenses into a false sense of security by letting them think your defense is trash. Phase 7 is a smashing success, btw. Just be patient and trust the process.

Let's see which position group usually plays like ****.....not just this year but for years now....Secondary...Martinez is the common denominator we were terrible when he was here with Butch and here we are still..I know we lost some key guys this year but even still they can't cover anybody regardless of talent..they leave guys wide open and they don't even try to make tackles ..all just my opinion of course🤣

The defense does some things good - I know that those of you who want to find fault don't see it. But they do create turnovers and have some sacks in the games.

They are just not consistent the entire game.
The back to back stops to start the third quarter against Kentucky lead to the game going from a potential back and forth shootout to a comfortable win. A lot of it depends on how you view things such in game adjustments and improvements. We likely won't see any sort of complete turnaround this season but there have been some incremental improvements during games. When the offense is clicking, which is typically the case, it doesn't take much to give us separation in the game. I saw the same thing in the Arkansas game until we took our foot of the gas too early in the fourth quarter and gave up a couple late scores.

If they weren’t getting a few turnovers, they would be giving up 700+ yards a game!

I dont think it would completely fix everything but it would be interesting to see how different the defense would look if McCoy and Gibson were both 100% and Boo had no attitude issues and was flying around making plays.

I'll tell you what's not fixable ... DLs lining up in the neutral zone. That's been alive and well every game for 4 years. Pretty sure that we have NZ grad assistant who trains DLs to make sure to line up there at least 1-2 times per game. 👹

McCoy coming back fixes a lot of issues, Arion Carter coming back helps a lot, particularly if we play Spillman over Telander the majority of the time. Safety is an issue, and not one that is going to be fixed this year. Can we mask it at least? That remains to be seen.

So, gonna give the coach some leeway here and if the D holds OK to less than 35 points, then I will fully support our coaches assertion that our beloved D can be fixed!!

Well, the first step to recovery is admitting you have a problem. By Heupel saying it’s ‘fixable’ means he acknowledges it needs to be fixed. The denial phase has ended.
