McCoy practicing in pads yesterday per Nakos

If he can hit the ground running and play even close to his ability our D will improve. Having him and Hood helps our front seven immensely. Fingers crossed
Definitely will help us some on the back end, but I don’t think him coming back will help with our front 7 with getting gashed.
But I am hopeful he gets back to form, for his own personal well being. Prove why he was a potential All American.

And we had “experts” on here saying there is a zero chance he would come back
I don't recall that. I recall some rumor (seemingly coming from AP) that his agent was trying to get him to hold out but it was never said that his camp entertained that possibility. I think his availability at the end of the year will probably depend on our postseason situation. I know on 247 both Patrick and Ryan have said the entire time he was doing everything he could to get back. Austin didn't say that either. I think fans sort of expect bad news. It never made sense to me that so many were convinced he wouldn't play based on all the available information.

Unrelated but topical: Callahan says he doesn't have to take contact in practice to play Saturday.

Great news but, hope he was wearing Maximum Protection Pads. Can't get hurt during practice!!

Gawd....just stop. He's rehabbing with an eye on the draft. Kid ain't gonna help us this year. Even if he comes back this week, he's going to be limited. To round into form would take...oh, I don't know...the REST OF THE SEASON? Geez. Accept reality. Think he's seeing what rushing back has done for Mateer? Youth or a subpar McCoy...the results are basically going to be the same. Toast city.
