Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

It is home to me now, I will probably never get to live there again, but I feel like I'm back home everytime we cross the Howard Franklin. I love east Tennessee, but I don't feel that way about it anymore.
We should seriously meet up. My treat. You’re a legend on here and I learned a lot from your past stories of your tough journey through life. Matter of fact, you should probably share some life lessons from Ulysses for the young people on here. You’re a big reason I stopped drinking.

Me trying to think that our defense isn’t hot slaw…

Exactly. It’s bad. The tackling is bad. Secondary is bad. Red zone is worst in conference. If garbage time is when the game is literally in the balance, I agree because teams set records against us this year vs how they perform against other teams.

The stats and the eye test are enough to know that our defense is really bad. Yes, we’re missing players, but we’re also missing tackles. The scheme doesn’t work for the personnel.

If we had Oklahoma’s defense we would win a National Championship this year.
I disagree. I think their defensive rankings take a hit from last week on

i hope we realize how much this game means to Ooooohklahoma. You know they'll be all in.
I hope our fans realize how important they are this weekend and scream their butts off all game long. It could really be the difference in a win or loose. Not many games you can go to where you can have a direct impact on the outcome.

loosing is knot an option. failyure wont work

Boo (definitely transferring)
McMurray (graduation)
McCoy (draft)
Beasley (replaced moved down depth chart)
Merritt (not playing could develop but many just leave if not playing quick)
Stewart (git)
Brazzel (git)
Lewis (git)
You said, "several to transfer". I agreed with Boo and the possibility of Beasley. Don't necessarily agree with any of the freshmen leaving.

NFL/graduation can't be helped.

The bigger question marks, IMO, are Hood and Gibson. Hood could choose to go pro. Hope he comes back. And Gibson, just how severe is his injury? Is it career threatening? Can he come back and return to form?

With all that said, I hope we go to the portal for help. We need it.

Randy Boyd isn’t a politician, he’s a businessman that held a commissioner position at ECD. Big difference.
You're splitting hairs. I figure if you make a serious run for governor the line between businessman and politician are pretty blurred. It's alright that you feel that way and we don't have to agree. Which is Bill Lee, you know? He's sort of the same animal.

Just recorded a cool video of a huge hawk or eagle getting attacked by some crows or something, 😂. I had just gotten to the garage when I heard the birds squawking like crazy. I looked up and this giant hawk/eagle was flying around getting dive bombed by a bunch of smaller birds. They chased it in a circle about 3 or 4 times.

I didnt have my phone, so I got at from the truck then walked up to the house. I recorded the big hawk sitting in the top of a tree with 6-8 smaller birds diving and squawking at it, trying to run it off. It must've been raiding their nests or something.

I'll see if I can get my buddy to upload it for me after while.
