'25 Recruiting Forum: Official Tennessee versus Kentucky Pre-game/Game Thread

Boo can be painful to watch...just so inconsistent with his effort and play. On the crazy fumble, Kentucky had recovered it and Boo laid the hit that caused them to fumble again. It's a shame he doesn't put that effort into every play all the way to the whistle.

@Wickman

Swain just said it this morning. I clipped the portion of the show but don’t know how to upload it. He explained the dynamics of the Ricky Gibson transfer portal threat and how he asked for more NIL bc boo Carter got a raise all thie while carrying himself like a Jack ass.
And then He missed summer and created a real disconnect
How frustrating is this? I would almost guarantee to say that this is probably the sole reason for the lack of effort and crappy defensive performances for the entire year. It’s set the tone for that side of the ball and I’ll go on record to say that we will miss the playoffs because of it. Sometimes you truly do get addition by subtraction.

I’ve literally been saying this from 1st game opening kick. Smh 🤷🏾‍♂️
There is discontent on that defense. And it’s visible from behind the tv screen

I think yalls take is 🐎 💩 conjecture. The Boo Carter situation is making everyone suck at tackling and not know wtf they're doing? OK.

I think the Boo Carter situation is a big part of the trash effort on the back end of the defense. Have to play as a team to be successful consistently. We see some great individual plays but not good team defense. I’ll venture to guess that if we would’ve let boo go ahead and leave, our defense would be in a way better position today without him than it is now with him, even with the injuries.

boo absolutely can tackle

he's our most boom or bust player. really frustrating. when he's on, he's gaming. when he's off, we are screwed. that position has to be going for us if our defense is to play well overall.

i dont know what it will take in his head to see every down as an opportunity to put NFL draft footage on tape. both good and bad

Going to ask, have you ever been on a team, in a unit or at a job where leadership has allowed favorites, or doesn’t hold everyone accountable? Have you noticed moral and effort dips considerably. The little things aren’t being done or highlighted, effort is lacking.
The environment is hard to overcome.
Ever noticed teams that simply make one or two little changes, become producing at a high level after changes?

In most companies, teams, organizations, Huge positive changes in production comes from the smallest of change and leadership and moral are atop the list of those small changes.
