Hitting coach. Forces Houston to shake up their bench staff. Prolly a good thing for Houston.@chuckiepoo wasnt he with the ‘stro’s?
What’s the lowdown on him?
Those were my Raiders. George was a good un! He and the assassin were as intimidating as they come.Raiders safety George Atkinson back in the 70's passed today. Jack Tatum and Atkinson were the model for rule changes today. They were MEN playing football for keeps. We will never see their like again in football.
Check out the book written by Jim Otto. Crazy what he went through. Over 70 surgeries, infections and an amputation. Glad the game is safer, but when I see how these players "tackle" and hear about some of the "injuries", I just shake my head.Affirmative, every play was targeting by purpose and design. Warriors among warriors...modern day gladiators. The autumn wind is a raider pillaging just for fun.
I had a discussion regarding the gladiatorial nature of football with my Dad yesterday. It was pretty bad before the introduction of hard shell helmets.Check out the book written by Jim Otto. Whatever they're playing today is not FOOTBALL There are no Matuszacks, Mad Storks, Alzedos, Tatums, Davidsons and Atkinsons left. No Snakes in the huddle with bourbon on their breathe. Just win baby...Check out the book written by Jim Otto. Crazy what he went through. Over 70 surgeries, infections and an amputation.
