Yes. Only job that would compare would be Texas if Sarkisian leaves for the NFL.

LSU could easily pull a coach like Kiffin or Key, imo. It’s going to be an interesting search.

I think the paradigm is shifting on that. It’s about NIL and Louisiana doesn’t have the billionaires that Texas, Florida, Georgia and Tennessee have. This 54 million buyout is going to hurt and possibly set back the program. I don’t know if they can afford top dollar for a coach.

This is the one job where the governor is involved. They’ll fund hiring a top coach if they have to.

Unless the governor can divert public funds for NIL I don’t think it matters much. Every governor of every state has some involvement with the flagship university.

LSU is different. Landry is one of the biggest influencers in Kelly getting canned. That isn’t happening anywhere else.

It was a lot of different things that caused it to go through way it did. Literally everything went perfect and then everything went terribly wrong.
