Tennessee vs Duke (Exh) Official Game Thread - 7pm ESPN2

Interesting game. Some flashes of elite potential and some disappointing debuts. Lots to learn from here. Losing to Duke in an exhibition is fine. I mean we lost to Indiana at home last year. Plus we will thankfully not have to see Boswell play 20+ minutes again.
I would think so but now I’m scared it may not be the case.

where can you see the box score for this game? ESPN doesn't seem to cover exhibition games? I just want to see who scored how much

Our best player (Gillespie) has had a really bad shooting day and our second best player (Ament) has had a really bad shooting day. Still held our own with a preseason top ten team. Haven’t loved the offensive philosophy. Too much 1:1 ball has led to some of the poor shooting. Think some of that is related to Boswell not being an offensive threat at all. Can be easy to default to isolation basketball when you have a non scoring threat on the court.

With all that being said, I like this team and see potential. Looking ahead, I think Boswell either has to figure something out offensively or lose quite a few minutes to a guy like Abram or Burg.

Gonna be a good year. Stayed with a very big & talented Duke team the whole game and if we see better shooting from either of our main 2 guys we win this one.

I doubt Gillespie and ament will both be that inefficient very often at the same time this season. Barnes obviously still not settled on best 5 either because any lineup closing with Phillips, Okpara, and Boswell is doomed to fail.
