This offense is 2022 fun! We have the passing leader and three of the top 10 receiving leaders.

Joey is a likeable and fun QB. Dudes got the biggest smile. He loves playing here.

We aren't making the playoffs-but if by some miracle we do, we aren't good enough to win...that's ok. We are a good, not great team.

We just killed a team on the road that we were predicted to win by EIGHT.

This offseason, changes will have to be made. I agree with many of you on that, but we only get ONE year of Joey pigskin, and I'm going to enjoy the heck out of it .
The difference in this team and the 2022 team is they have no wins against quality teams. In 2022 we beat a very solid Pitt team on the road. We beat Alabama. We beat Florida. We beat LSU on the road. This year we have beaten the 3 worst SEC teams, and 3 bad OOC teams.

UT is as good as the rest of the teams on the schedule, and IMO as good as UGA. The Vols are not as bad as they looked against Alabama either. That was just a terrible game (give Alabama credit).

So yes, the Vols could do it. Why would anyone think they can't?
we have 4 games left and three of them are going to be tough. I believe I read where we are the favorites in all of them so far, but man, excuse my BVS...it is a Grade 4 BVS....but we will have a difficult time @ UF and Vandy looks to really play the part and I fear what a running QB like Pavia will do to our defense.

OU will be interesting and may be the litmus test to how the rest of the season will go. Their QB is back, but man, he does not put up incredible numbers (then again UK hadn't put up incredible numbers before last night).

I do believe our Offense is good enough to score on anyone (UK held TX to 10 points before OT. But we do depend upon the deep ball. Alabama game was as bad as it was because we just didn't get any downfield completions. OU defense is decently okay, but we NEED to have that win to set the stage for the rest of the season. Lose that game, I see a couple more losses. Win it going into an off week then NMS, we could be primed for the last two....but OU, to me, is the big test.

EDIT: Just looked at the total defense rankings...OU #1 in total defense....this makes Saturday a big, big game for us. Toughest defense we have left on the table.

I've come to learn that some just live to complain. If we beat every team 3-0, they would complain about the offense not being good enough. Even if we won every game 50-0, they would find something. That is just who they are.

Some people are content with mediocrity. To some that’s a bad thing.

Tennessee has the second highest watch ratings in football this year, only behind bama. Defense just has to fundamentally better. Bad angles and sometimes bad open field tackling. Also banks cannot play every down in the same standard formation. Even if you do, show a different look sometimes. Take some chances, why in Haiti does put D play like robots and look confused so much before the ball is snapped, especially when we line up the same way practically every time. We have to mix it more, everytime we brought an extra man or 3 Bolley got rattled but banks kept acting scared to bring the pressure. Like he was a heisman candidate or something. I know Banks isn’t as bad as some think, but the best way to help our secondary is get pressure on the quarterback. We need our linebackers closer on the running plays. 3rd and 4th and 1 a few times and our D is lined up like they need 10 yards. Our D needs to show more fire and emotion out there, you have to stay focused and smart but without fire and emotion you lose aggression. Defense needs to get more aggressive and hungry. The lack of passion and hunger on D, we need a D coach on the sideline to stay on them and fire them up. Being workman like is good, but this is football not sitting behind the desk at some 9-5. GBO, get with it D, you can do better! GBO

The 2025 Vols are NOT mediocre. Some of you act like you don't remember the past.

The offense is pretty good. The defense is really bad. The coaching is mediocre. Play calling is great at times and leaves you wondering WTH they’re thinking other times. We weren’t going undefeated. That doesn’t excuse giving games away.

What really ticks me off is to see the improvement of defenses like Missouri and vandy. A program like Tennessee has no excuse to field a unit like that. And it's not just the scheme, many of the players are slow and have poor fundamentals. Not a good combo.

Vandy and Missouri have allowed points when paying offensive teams that score a lot of points.

Only common opponent is Bama -
Vandy allowed Bama 486 total yards. Tennessee allowed Bama 373 yards. Missouri allowed Bama 325 yards.

We lost to Bama because our offense was not clicking. To me it was that one play which we never could recover from.

#3 in the country in total yards and #2 in scoring. If that's only pretty good, what is your definition of really good or elite?

Our team play reminds me of the old Big12 where the offenses just ran up and down the field and the defenses regularly gave up 40 or 50 points.

It just came down to who made one extra stop on D and that determined the outcome.

Great teams don’t go jumbo formation and throw pick 6s before the half. They don’t get turnovers on a team they haven’t beaten in almost a decade and run it up the middle 3 times to kick a fg. They don’t continuously drop passes, get dead ball penalties, etc. Yea the offense is pretty good but strength of schedule has a lot to do with it. You don’t have to agree and I’m cool with you not.

Season is not over, still could beat Florida at the Swamp. That will be huge if we do. Alabama is most likely going to the playoffs this year, didn't in 22, but again, season still has 4 more regular season games.

And we did get our brains beat out by SC in 22.

Guess Im saying when its all said and done, its possible you can say its a wash.

Yes I believe 9-3 is where we’re at ! Again like I predicted after a Kentucky blow out now you all forget how our biggest rival beat the snuff out of us and now we are going to the playoffs and winning it all? Personally I see what this expanded playoff scenario has done to college football and I don’t like it! We are no different than the NFL kneeling jerks! No longer is beating your rivals that important now it’s the playoff or bust? Well all enjoy this week and the chest pumping because other than NM we still have 3 tough games one of them in the swamp where it’s hard to win no matter what! If we do run the table then I will be the first to say I was wrong, but the next three sec teams are a lot better than Kentucky so please enjoy your victory dances this week !

Hope springs eternal. But Heupel will not make any staffing changes unless Banks is already shopping himself around. If he leaves, he will leave by choice. And Heup ain’t firing anybody. Just not in his DNA. He has never once fired a coach, to my knowledge. And this is a zero-sum, performance- and results-based business. Perform or else. This is one reason I jumped off the Heup train a few games ago. I’m done with him here in year five. Will always pull for my Vols, no matter what.
