What QB do you want from the transfer portal next year?

Some kid from the Big 12 or group of five whom I haven't heard of yet.

Edit: My preference, though, would be to ride with who we got (I think GMac is the guy) and spread qb1 money between the best corner and ballhawking safety we can find.

Over exaggeration, but I get your point.

Also, we did come out of Starksville and Lexington with a W instead of the L you predicted. It aint ideal obviously, but this is what we are this year and we are exactly what most everyone predicted to this point.
Overall, perhaps an exaggeration, but did you happen to catch the Turrentine lay down attempt? I mean, come on. That was as weak as you can possibly get this side of turning tail and running. Dude should be ashamed at that effort.

Why? This is professional sports now. Nico lost his payday. We are losing a QB will have to break in a new starter that is likely a freshman or redshirt freshman.

We also need to overhaul the OC position as well.

Nico lost a very sweet package here and knows Heupel’s system.

It’s simple. Offer him a cheaper deal than he had and more than what he has now and tell his dad to kick rocks and GTFO.

I’m personally over the idea of recruiting quarterbacks and developing them in this new era of football. Go find a mercenary QB with multiple years of eligibility and make a business decision.
Nico couldn’t run Heupel’s offense. We might have been 0-8 in the SEC last year if we had this year’s defense and last year’s limited offense.

None, use what you recruited. The portal can work ala Joey but Nico......

I thought it would be a MacIntyre vs Brandon battle for QB1 next spring. Maybe I’m wrong.
Wow, a redshirt freshman and a true freshman as QB numbers 1 and 2. That's a little scary, but it has been done before with success. At the very least, I think we'll get a portal QB. The question is, do we go after a senior day one starter, or do we go after a guy who won't mind splitting reps with the young guys as they gain game experience? Or do we get someone only as an insurance backup, and let the freshmen have at it? Time will tell.

Nico is hot garbage----watch some of his damn games

Might not be as crazy as it sounds.
Not going to get a top tier one...our QB of the future is coming in and either Mac or Merc will be here to battle for starting role next year. so unless it is a HUGE name, we will be shopping for a backup.

Now, we better be active on the defensive side of the ball

I'd say roll with Gmac/Merk/Faizon and bring in Cam Coleman to replace Brazzell.
I’d be shocked if Merklinger is still here next year. If that’s the case, they’d have to get someone out of the portal. They’re not going to roll with 2 QBs, especially ones with zero experience.

And our offense is humming. For a second straight week, our defense has held the opposing team to less than 50% scoring drives on their possessions with 5/12.

The defense is capable of making stops / forcing turnovers early on that make the game out of reach.

Offense just has to be average at minimum.

Are you suggesting 5/12 is a good ratio especially when it's all touchdowns?
