Boo!!! Carter

It’s not his sole responsibility to stop the pass lol
Well the players, head coaches, defensive coordinators, and fellow assistant coaches have changed through the years, but the one constant has been that Willie Martinez has been a coach on defenses that couldn’t stop a nosebleed through the air. That was the case at every other school he has been at in the past 20 years as well. Maybe it is a coincidence, but if something happens 8/9 times, at some point you have to start looking for patterns and common threads.

While Boo may flash a play or so every now and then, he has generally looked checked out mentally. He seems to have lost some confidence and swagger. I think whatever is plaguing him in his personal life really needs to addressed. It is clearly having an effect.

Get your ass to Boulder Colorado and play for that loser program, you have no heart, no desire, no respect for the power T. Give me anyone else. That is all.

Death, taxes, Tennessee beats Kentucky.

Seriously, there’s no place for him on the field. All the talent in the world but doesn’t give a crap, mentally checked out, doesn’t want to be there. It’s a disgrace to watch that as a fan.
Honestly, i am not surprised if he has mentally checked out. This fan base turned on him like rabid dogs via social media, based on rumor mongering from a minor radio personality.

It is hard to give your all for a fanbase that crucified you when most were clueless as to what the situation was.

With that said, if he doesn't improve his on field performance, he will continue to be a liabilty to our already weak secondary.

Rumor?? Boo was almost kicked off the team by the player council. Doing exactly what he’s doing on the field now. Not showing up. That wasn’t rumor big dawg. Did that lead to rumors? Sure, but if Boo was doing what he was supposed to be doing in the first place the rumors never start. Weird how that works out

So, the fan base is to blame? Really?

He’s not the only one sucking on defense.
Why single him out.
Perhaps it's because he clearly gave up on the play early?

And fwiw.... his locker room shenanigans and NIL holdout put him under the microscope. Perform and all is forgiven. Get burned by a true freshman and give up on the play, it's naturally going to piss some fans off.

Agree with it or not, this is the reality

Agreed. Apparently the team saw what we all now see. I think (hope) he's gone after this season.

Yet another person angry due to a realistic post questioning a coach. Go ahead and tell me which players you think Martinez has greatly developed and looks much improved yearly……
Kamal Hadden went from a nobody to a draft pick.
Jermod McCoy is projected to be the top CB taken in the draft.
Colton Hood has gone from a backup to a projected top 3 pick (R1 in some mocks).
Rickey Gibson was projected to be a top 3 round pick before getting hurt in game 1.

3 of those 4 were 3* recruits. The other (Gibson) was a 3* when he committed, but got a late bump to low 4*.

That’s just in the last couple years.

Martinez absolutely develops CBs.
