'25 Recruiting Forum: Official Tennessee versus Kentucky Pre-game/Game Thread

Nope, see last year's defense. We are an interior d lineman, a safety and a corner away from being top 3rd of league defensively.

Couple that with our offense and that's the deciding factor in 95% of our games
I saw it . Get shredded by UGA and Ohio st🤷🏻‍♂️.
I see it this year too. No way are we this pathetic with a good DC. I know we have weaknesses and players out but this is ridiculous. We’ve got more talent on the field than we show.

It's gonna be an interesting tone in the post game presser. Do we get angry Heupel after a blowout win?

For us to win 10 games, our offense will have to play like this three more times. Or the defense will have to play out of their minds (average by league standards). Wonder if he's gonna show he feels that.

Welp, I'll bite on the bait. This is a boring game so allow me. Remember, you asked for this. I don't think there's any data to support that idea.

2021, a bunch of young guys and less than athletic upperclassmen: scoring defense: 107th

2022, more young guys grow up after getting experience: scoring defense 37th

2023, guys who have multiple years under the system are all over the field: 23th

2024, mostly everyone who is starting is a multi-year starter: 7th

2025: a bunch of young and less than athletic upperclassmen....

The 6 players drafted from that group would probably beg to defer that Banks and the coaching staff made them play like 2 stars. Byron Young would be a manager at Dollar General if it weren't for our coaches. Now he's the NFL leader in sacks.

This was always a rebuilding year. We were all singing Banks's praises last year. Relax
Talk like that will get you shaved off 🤨

He could still teach them to stick to their spot on zone d (if you can’t execute your job you don’t play) and make solid tackles when the players right in front of you.

We have young talent, that is getting exposed.

I’ll disagree. He’s average at best.
