Little of both.
Our LB can't cover. I'm not exaggerating that and our safeties have zero awareness of schemes.
Seriously,when have you seen,this year,any safety really break up passes or come up in the box to make a tackle?

Defense (and I use the term loosely) has given up 200 yards passing in the first half to a scrub QB. The tough thing is there doesn’t seem to be a safe lead. Makes it really hard to watch.

Our defense, we couldn't stop a middle school from scoring

We tackle like a youth football team !! Nobody goes for the legs anymore. Boo Carter got beat on their long TD throw and just ran behind the guy all way to the endzone ! Didn't even try for his legs. If we make it to the playoffs we'll be embarassed like last year.

Alontae Taylor and the safety (forgot his name) took huge steps forward in year one with Martinez. McCoy became the best corner in the country under Martinez. Hood has been great. Jakobe Thomas was really good last year. When they have talent they coach them up pretty well. But they can’t get talent without using the portal. Not good
