Understandable, I like the first 2 more as well. Partly because they’re younger guys with a similar energy to Tony.

Godwin is a winner & have to think with resources here he could do even more. SEC experience as an assistant too.

I think there are about 5-6 names brick-able that are on the list…we land any of those and I’m gonna be happy.

Will just wait to see who we interview. I definitely think DW is gonna get the best he can. No way do you want to finish the stadium & have an apathetic fanbase leaving it half empty.

Legit question---

Did I miss it, or did Vitello not put out any kind of statement/presser or address him leaving, doing the thank you's and explaining his departure? Did he just come out to second base at the scrimmage and wave and say thanks, and that was it??

I just saw someone say "at least Kiffin had the balls to do a presser and explain himself leaving"...

Did TV just leave with the wind and not make an official statement? I sure hope he did and I just missed it...

Ruining Bama inbreds ability to root for baseball, big energy, confident guy. Also a winner.

I really don’t know enough about Godwin to have an opinion.

Please keep in mind I have been picking a barrel of bourbon and am just on the ride home

Not sure he’s had a bad hire besides maybe the baseball guy at UCF? 5/6 is pretty good if my boozed math is right

I think ultimately as long as Elander can successfully convey his vision he’ll get the nod. It’s got DW hire written all over it. Younger, energetic, exciting brand of ball. No idea how analytics focused he is but that’s also something DW values.

But the names are fun to talk about.

I like both Kevins too & would be happy with either. Schnall only has 1 year under the belt is why he’s lower for me. McMullan hasn’t coached a game yet, this is year 1 for him as a HC anywhere.

So with those 2 being that inexperienced I have em lower.

Nothing against Godwin , he is a good coach ... If we wanted to go cheap how about Dan Skirka at Murray State guy went to CWS with less than many teams and only makes $240,000 a year plus.only 40 years old...

why does anyone want a gump??? No way do I want Vaughn... Ellander or we settle for a huge down grade... period.

half the team about to jump in the portal and our #1 recruiting class is about to evaporate (a few TV will poach) if it's not Ellander...

I don't care if Vaughn is a Gump , he is a good baseball coach.. maybe if DW hires him you should stand outside LNS with a picket sign ...

I would love to know what the friction was between Tony and DW, since that might give some insight into whether Elander has a chance. I agree though, he certainly seems like a DW choice.

Completely uninformed random thought, but I've wondered if DW might have not appreciated the "bad boy" vibe as much as fans. Given how much negative press has been generated around Tennessee over the last 10 or 20 years, he might see it as counter to his effort to clean up the brand. If it were something like that, it could certainly have an impact on Elander's chances.
