Ride the lightning
and Master of Puppets are clearly Metallica's best stuff. I do like and Justice for all a lot though. The black album is essentially the Metal Version of The Wall when it comes to popularity.

I think CRB falls into the same category. The difference is age, most people expect him to exit soon, and Barnes made his name elsewhere where as TV was Tennessee product. TV felt like he was 100% ours.

Don't know much about what he's built at UNLV, but hard for me to take that "built one of these at Florida" seriously when he's talking about a school where Spurrier & Urban Meyer coached.

It would seem like some of the "TV didn't get what he asked for so he left" sentiments would be tough. If the reports are true and TV and DW had a strained relationship because they didn't get along; then what is the concession that TV is asking for to improve that? Did he want DW to fire himself so TV could get an AD that he got along with? It just seems like that would be a situation where TV either says I am happy enough with every other aspect of my job that I will stay at UT or not. There was no way to remove the issue.

I hope Dan realizes everything has shifted and it’s no longer an arms race for the best facilities. It’s all about the Benjamins. Players got to get paid.

Agree, but the question we've seen some yesterday - about whether Tony is a VFL (I answered yes as long as he isn't coaching in another college dugout). Made me think about Coach Dickey (I'm old, but his leaving for FL pre-dates my Vols fanhood). I don't care that he came back here as A.D., I didn't stand up and clap when they honored him at Neyland.

My understanding is it all revolves around the revenue sharing split. So my guess is Tony wanted more of the pie.

Facilities typically signal to recruits a program's willingness to invest in the program. It's not as important now that $ is king, but Dan is clearly suggesting that the money he never got at Florida is there at UNLV to build a program. I guess we'll see if he's right. I bet no one will be able to hire him away from UNLV though.

90% of fans are still struggling to adjust to the new reality of CFB where you can buy your way to football success. You always could, but it's facilitated now and way easier. Mullen had non or that at Florida and he's suggesting Billy didn't either when he asks if the next guy is going to get more investment.

Sure a few big money donors may be saying "it could have been avoided" but they also may not have a damn clue what TV was looking for either. And we have entire chunks of fans and donors alike that don't care about baseball, or football or basketball or soccer or track or softball or swimming etc. not everyone wants to pony up to help keep Tony and some that have already might have been like "but we're already paying X for this new stadium..."

One thing to add...

Vitello's new contract in August 2024 made him the first $3 million man in the sport. Johnson's new deal last month surpassed it.

I mean…Vaughn has yet to make it to supers in 8 years as a HC. Godwin has been 4x in 10 years as a HC. I think Vaughn is great but comparing resumés of the 3, Godwin would be considered a hell of a successful hire.

Fun to talk about it tho. I like all 3!
