Where do you want the next Vols coach to come from?

Looks like people are turning on DW like a pack of rabid dogs.
Was always bound to happen. Pricing people out of games, the over corporation of everything, money over everything else attitude. Man just sunk the best program on the hill cause that program doesn’t make money. You can only do these things if you’re winning, and we’re not anywhere close enough to winning as much as you need in football to justify this Bs

I would give Elander a short term contract with a very low buyout right away, if that will keep the recruiting class intact. Give him a trial period and see what happens. We all watched the TAM internal coaching hire last season, started bad, ended well. DW is going to throw the line out with a big topwater lure and, figure 8 it, just to see if he can catch a big fish before he makes the move to Elander.

Elander first. Then maybe Chris Burke if Elander isn't an option. Maybe Frank runs the show this year as an interim while Elander gets ready to take over next year.

I will play the game. It’s easier to start at who I don’t want. It would be easy to go down the road, Corbin. Don’t want.

For that matter, I can’t come up with a current SEC coach that I feel better about than Elander/CFA.

If ya wanted to go cheap, I’ve been impressed with the staff at Grand Canyon, considering the lack of resources they have. I don’t think it’s the right time. Everyone would immediately talk about Serrano, fair or not.

Whoever it is, they need to be young, recruiting is the lifeblood in college baseball and we have that guy on campus, he’s gonna get a job as a HC.

I’m not saying don’t do your due diligence but it might be right under your nose.

GBO!!!

I’m not commenting on ticket prices again as I’ve beat that horse to death. It costs more money to run a successful program. And, we are cheaper than Ohio St, UGA, Bama and many others. I am a season ticket holder rt now.

He sunk the baseball program b/c our head coach decided to leave TN (to make history in being the first college coach) to be named mgr of a MLB team?

Our football program has had the best three yrs since 90’s while basketball has never been better. Baseball has had incredible success - thank you Tony- with a renovated stadium making it one of the best in the country. It wasn’t about money.

Season ticket sales are at an all-time high with all three sports selling out - baseball, basketball, and football.

Plus, our athletic program is financially the healthiest it’s ever been.

Last but not least, student involvement is at an all time high. Student attendance is @ an all-time high in all sports - including softball, soccer, etc. Partly b/c students receive more “points” when they attend games to those sporting events. Those points give the student a better chance to receive tickets to football games, esp. the ones in higher demand (UGA, Bama, Ole Miss. FL, Oklahoma , Etc).

White may have opportunities as our AD. And, he may be arrogant like some on here have suggested. But, he has done wonders for my Alma mater and I appreciate all he’s done.

Go Vols!

Because Elander is similar to Tony in the sense that he’s a young, relatable, and relentless recruiter that is every bit as responsible for the talent surge on campus as Tony. He’s also the hitting coach responsible for all the home runs and power we’ve seen these last 8 years. He’s the logical choice.
I agree. I think after TV, he has formed great relationships through his recruiting, which may be huge in retaining many of our recruits. I also think all his other contributions to helping our program improve is a big plus. I think he was close to being offered a HC job somewhere. I also think keeping Frank will help keep the pitching recruits. Seems like Frank might be ready to hang it up in a couple of years & doesn’t want to deal with HC. But what do I know.

Other than that, I just want a coach that can “pick up the ball” & keep us rolling. Whoever that may be. GB🍊

Baseball guys, why is Elander the overwhelming consensus here? Nobody ever agrees this much on VN.
From my perspective, I wonder what head coach would be interested knowing we only have a fraction of NIL funds to spend in comparison to our SEC rivals like LSU and ARKY. Bet UGA also spends as much or more than we do. I think it's Elander by default...no offense to him.

As many have stated.. it's Elander.. PERIOD. As long as he is willing to take the job that is 100% who you offer. It's going to be virtually impossible to replicate not just the record but the culture of what Tony V built. However, if there is someone that could potentially keep that same culture rolling it's Elander. Great recruiter. Great hitting coach. I hope he gets the job.

for me it will be in this order as of right now.

1. Elander
2. if Derosa doesn't get the Braves job, give him a call
3. Bruce Bochy (at least give him a call)
4. Coastal Carolina coach
5. Burke.
6. at this point, it will suck either way

4 and 5 are interchangeable but Coastal does have the experience edge.

Our dugout. It's who the current and forever players want. If it's not Elander changes are A LOT of our curvy team will leave. I know of one personally and know there will be others

Which program are they throwing money at? Women's basketball?
I’m pretty sure 103 million to build a stupid stadium to a coaches specs are throwing money at a program! Also the NIL collective gives more to the baseball program than about any other college baseball program in the country. It’s why the one from the school itself could be lower, we could afford to do that since the collective doesn’t pay as much to other programs at UT like womens basketball. But don’t tell any of the other idiots on here that!

We hopefully pay half to Elander and this program continues to roll and prove that the secret sauce wasn’t TV. By the way, how many MLB drafts picks have come from TN the last let’s say 5 seasons? Leads the nation and that is what TV was good at. His coaching wasn’t all that great, he stacked talent and if we continue doing that the program will continue just like it is. By the way I keep hearing best baseball coach in the country was TV. I don’t believe that as Jay Johnson has 2 rings.

Your head coach of the Tennessee Baseball Volunteers…..Josh Elander. Has to happen, makes the most sense and will keep a majority of the class together.

Elander.... I would listen to players and former players more than any... He helped bring a natty... Knows what it takes... But its obvious Danny wants his guy and wants it about him
