2026 Lady Vols Recruiting

Huh, when was the Texas A&M coach the head Olympic Coach? Being an asst isn't considered the same thing.

I think it does quite a bit particularly in Lawson's case.
1. A lot of negative recruiting centers on Lawson's lack of coaching experience, so they can say she doesn't know what she is doing. However, if USA basketball is willing to give her the reigns, it is harder to make that argument worth much
Americup (a job given to the future Olympic coach) also helps combat the negative talking point that Lawson can't coach offense. Her team averaged more points per game than the previous 3 Americup teams. 91.3 (2025), 71.1 (2023), 88.8 (2021), 88.7 (2019) and 2 of those teams consisted of pros instead of college players.

2. I also think it helps NIL money quite a bit and that is an area where Duke has struggled a lot until very recently. Donors are more confident when they feel they are supporting something/someone big. And as much as we may not want to admit it, money is a huge factor in kids' decision making right now.
I will add to this: Money is a huge factor for the parents with helping the kids make a decision. IMO Bri’s parents are directing her to take all these trips to see what the money looks like from each school

How did you come to this conclusion? I’m curious.

I'd like to know also,,,unfounded statements like this hurts recruiting

It wasn’t a conclusion it was an opinion and as a parent I would do it for my child to get the best NIL evaluation that she could and not for my gain but to put him or her in a better financial position at a young age and hopefully my child would be responsible and make wise decisions too grow the money.I wouldn’t tell my child to go to the school with the biggest offer but look at everything and it’s totally your decision and I support you

it sounded like you had spoken to and knew her parents...

thanks for clearing this up ;o)
Bri and her Father are honorable and good people.

Guess she did cancel her visit

She’s headed to LSU. Cancelled her visits with South Carolina and Tennessee.

We’re truly in a great spot. We have already signed the most important player we needed and that’s Big Oh.

We will need to add a shooter and a couple more forwards from the portal which we should be able to do just fine.

27’ is the year we need to sign 3-4 players.

yeah i agree. we needed to be extra picky for the ‘26 class since we had a big ‘25 class. i think we will patch any holes in the portal. no reason to go crazy. big oh fills the need we needed the most imo.

Agree about our main needs are for bigs! Plus Crittenden and Keke are potential! Big “O” fills the need but the other two bigs would be a welcomed addition…. 🤷‍♂️ just saying

Yes, Crittendon is very much in play and is a superb player at 6’3” she can play a lot of roles. Very Janiah Barkeresque.

Bri is about to take additional visits to Washington and Texas. Wish she’d stay away from Texas. I feel like they’ll be a really good fit for her. Sounds like hers will come down to TCU, Tennessee, Oregon or Colorado. The rumor mill says Oregon is going hard for her. Boyfriend is at Colorado.

I haven’t seen any film on Okeke but hear good things. Not much around about her recruitment at all.

One thing I think NIL is doing that is GOOD is getting the top players to spread out. With the 26’ class it seems they are more inclined to get a bigger bag at a different/lesser school like Clemson or Oregon instead of all signing with UConn, LSU or South Carolina.

She already visited Washington this past weekend. Texas visit scheduled for October 31.

We need to get one of Crittendon or Okeke and we'll be awesome in recruiting this year. Okeke is a fabulous player would be top five in the country if an American player. Teaming her with Edwards would give us an inside game second to none they are college game ready players right now. We will have to beat UConn to get her is the way it seems to be shaping out. Just 21 days left until signing day which starts the 12th and ends the 19th of November. After that is is all the way until February.

If we get neither were needing two post players out of the portal. Of course we don't know who will be in there so it is tough to rely on there being some great players enter. Schools after the settlement are really locking down their players from entering the portal.
