After the season is over that missed FG may be irrelevant. We have to play much better than we have played not to finish 8-4 maybe 7-5? Who knows, I hope not but we are bad in many areas right now
I agree. Drive killing penalties, no ability to make sudden change plays / turnovers into points, sloppy play at key moments, poor clock management, poor tackling. I really like CJH and he HAS made our team hard to beat at home. But even at home . . . We have too many pre-snap penalties and sloppy play.
Last night, I do not think it’s hyperbole to say the combination of penalties, dumb coaching decisions, lack of execution, poor overall play, and the “catastrophic play” that used to happen a lot in the past (the play before half) all looked very much like the buffoonery of earlier regimes that fans roast constantly. It was a clown show.
At this point in the season we are: an above average offense with pre-snap penalty issues that kill drives against good teams, an offense that is increasingly turning the ball over, a very poor defense, and suspect special teams with our FG kicker. Put it all together and we are a middle of the pack SEC team that can play disciplined team football / make clutch plays and go 10-2 OR be mistake prone and be 8-4 or 7-5.
I think we have two more losses coming - Florida and either Oklahoma or Vandy.
I agree

with posts stating the UGA game changed our expectations. I thought we would be 8-4 before the season began with losses to UGA (check) and Bama (check) and two out of Arkansas / Florida / Oklahoma.
