Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

I think that report that said they were giving a substantial percentage to basketball to spite football was debunked. No report has since emerged that's said exactly how they are divvying up revenue, but I would imagine they'd invest the majority into football because even at UK, football is the money-maker. UK just had to give Athletics 141 million dollars to cover DEFICITS. Would be suicide not to give more money to football.

I think fans of schools that aren't Kentucky basketball need to be very cautious with the reports surrounding that program because there's a whole lot of money riding on that fan base staying engaged. I don't for a second believe they are paying 22 million for their roster but other teams that landed players Kentucky missed on are only spending around 10 million. Doesn't pass the smell test. I know how the media loves to gas that fan base up.
I wasn’t even talking about that report. Just the fact that stoops continues to publicly complain about lack of NIL.

He's not getting enough to compete at the level fans expect them to compete. But you can't squeeze blood from a turnip either. Mitch is well-connected and is known as a good fundraiser. If he can't get boosters to invest more into Kentucky Athletics then maybe they just are what they are at this point. They can compete, especially in basketball because Kentucky is a brand and there's a lot of eyes on the program, but if Calipari thought they could still compete at the level he did when he first got to Kentucky, I figure he's still be coaching there and not Arkansas.

Kentucky fans really want Barnhart to make a move on Mark Stoops but I don't think I would be begging for that right now if I'm a UK fan. There are a lot of jobs that are open and more that will eventually come open. Where would Kentucky rank on that list of open jobs?

They would be stupid to fire him this year with the type of jobs that are already open

Sooooo, Kentucky sucks?

Yeah but have you ever seen the losing team get 26 first downs and the victor have 8? That is insane. Oh yeah, looks like the line against UK is 9.5.
I've seen a whole lot of things that look very suspect over the years I've kept up with college football. I see things that are just as obviously slanted as this every week, yes. Many in the past have involved Tennessee. I tend to notice those more.

My oldest is in basic training and asked that I mail him the box scores from games. I'm having a hard time finding clean, printable box scores that don't take up 8 pages each. Anyone have any suggestions?

From the Kentucky board. Notice UK fans don't even bother demanding Mitch to be fired. They know that's not happening. How did we get to an environment where ADs are no longer held accountable for bad hires/contracts?

"Can Mitch retire please?"
