Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

We knew this year would be rough but started off looking good and fooled ourselves. We are a top 25 team and not much better. We still have OU, UF and Vandy that will decide our season.

I agree. I just don't think it matters. Our DBs cant hold up regardless. I believe our LBs are the main culprits for our zone issues, they are terrible. Redmond is playing with 0 confidence, he is giving heavy cushion every play and unfortunately we don't have any other options at the moment.
Totally agree. LBs have been an issue the entire Heupel tenure. Carter is as elite as it gets in run support, but he cannot hang in pass coverage. I think the young guys are way more versatile and as you said (I think you said this in your OP, could be drunk and conflating posts) we need to be giving them more burn. This season is basically a wash at this point, so get the young bucks seasoned so they don’t transfer AND they’re ready to go next season. Let Telander walk his ass to Clemson if he has an issue with the bench.

they do need a big portal haul on defense

more than we have so far

they need competition in the room and talent. It sucks to see UT not have top notch safety play in 15 years. It just gets so old.
We dont go after the db’s uga, tex and osu go after. Seems we like to go after projects and developmental guys. Its maddening. I like what ap (austin price) says. Dont care about their ranking, who did you beat them for. We arent beating uga, tex, nd, osu for our defensive backs.

Vanderbilt will be ranked higher than us this week and has a better chance at making the playoff. Let that sink in and the ask yourself if anyone is overreacting. Need some effing urgency and emotion on this team.
I mean... yeah... so? That doesn't matter halfway through the season. Come Monday we will have 2 losses to Top 5 teams. Vandy will have a 16pt loss to the team we have a 17pt loss to, and they didn't look nearly as close or competitive as we did.

So yes, I think that's a tad bit of an overreaction.

I could see us losing in Lexington if this team continues to not take details seriously. Most undisciplined and poorly coached team I’ve seen Heupel have here. It’s not like there’s no talent

I just realized you said some family from waynesboro. We used to go bridge jumping over there but can’t remember the creek name — I’m from Lawrenceburg originally

We used to drive down to Florence drunkenly and go to on the rocks and one of the other spots down there like fools
Aw hell my folks probably know you or some of your folks, even though I’m not super close with my family there. Will probably delete later, but my family name is … if you know any of them around the area.

Since Meyer for sure. But even since Meyer, Muschamp had an 11-win season, McElwain won the SECe twice, Mullen had two 11 win seasons and won the SECe. Napier is the only one who has done basically nothing.

A coach away…

Ok.

Keep cycling through coaches and you might eventually find one who isn't a complete retard.

Florida staffers who normally don't work on Sundays are being called in to work tomorrow according to Florida mods with sources inside the program. They are insinuating it's going to be tomorrow for Billy. That's a shame. I thought he was doing a super good job. The Swamp was packed the other day and they upset Pre-season Heisman Favorite Arch Manning. Tough job being coach in Gainesville. And not just because you have to live in Gainesville!

In this day and age of football (nfl & college), total yards dont mean a damn thing. The rules are for offenses to score a lot of points. Its about timely stops (punts, forcing fg’s & a turnover here and there). Our defense rarely forces punts, gets a timely turnover, or fg. The little times we do, our offense does nothing every time.

I’ll have another. You still ducked the point at hand. Classic
No I didn’t, your response to original point was childish. All I said is FL is a sleeping giant. It’s true and we’ve seen it across multiple eras.

Not a Florida fan and sleeping giant is true due to the talent in their backyard.

Go back to the hapless Mets who will never be a giant.
