I agree, but most people here will laugh and say it doesn’t matter. Presentation does matter. In almost all jobs, especially on the large stage that he has.

This was a terrible team performance. A terrible coaching job. You would hope by this time of the year, your team would be better prepared. Does Tennessee have a good coach or not. Gotta wonder?

It’s so hard to judge. On the one hand, he took us when we were in a dumpster fire and has some quality wins.

On the other hand we continue to look poorly coached with penalties and poor clock management and the defense is abysmal pretty consistently.

Heupel is a good coach. Aguilar is a mediocre QB that Heupel is getting as much out of him as he can. Our WR’s dropped alot of catchable balls. Our defense made a ton of mental mistakes such as that 3rd and 10 when they committed a pass interference on an uncatchable pass.

I think Heupel proves that he is a good coach each year. A lot like Franklin at Penn State. He can win a few of the big games but never the ones that take you to the next step. It will be a few years but we will fire Heupel in much the same manner as Penn State fires Franklin.

What sucks is that if we had a better coordinator on both sides of the ball I think we could be really good. The defense will always suck with Willie Martinez coaching. Banks just has zero juice this year. Had them 3rd and 13 on their 5 and he dropped us into coverage. Our dudes can’t cover. Offense just goes stagnant for too long. We flashed early this year. Since the Georgia game we’ve just had a slow regression

100%. That’s why he recruits well. All about the locker room and atmosphere. All fun and games when the expectation is 7-5. That’s not the case now, which, to his creditis his doing. Now, we get to find out if JH has the man parts to make some tough coaching decisions. You go anything less than 8-4 this year, I think some of them will be made for him because too much money is at stake. At worst, Banks and Willie have to go. I think you gotta bring in some offensive support staff too, but this offense has done well given the fact we literally have 3 WRs (which again, is on JH). JH has to learn to be more aggressive in the transfer portal moving forward to prevent the depth issues (which is hard with NIL). We need to recruit better out of high school too, especially in the secondary.

Huepl is the best coach we have had in over a decade. Clock management and decision making are really bad but he's done well here despite that
