Danny White is the only reason Tony is still here.

Tony is already among the highest paid coaches in MLB.

With California taxes and cost of living, they'd have to raise him to at least meet his current take-home pay which would probably make him a Top 5 manager in terms of pay. So, if this happens I don't think its a money thing I think its about the prestige of being a head coach in the MLB and I don't blame him really. He won the whole thing, and now he can chase something that few, if anyone, has ever accomplished.

How many baseball coaches on Earth do you think would choose to coach at the university of Tennessee over the San Francisco Giants?

This is like not understanding why a guy would leave to be the first pick in the draft over staying for his senior year.

I'm just saying this, not prophesying: Tony has a chance to immediately become legendary. He will be given whatever he wants and need at Tennessee. It's just going to be about whether he wants the opportunity to prove himself on that level. I don't know what I would do. Fair point and maybe he stays, but if he leaves I don’t think it’s some sort of betrayal. It’s a move 95% if people would do.
