Here's what you're missing...

I can agree with most of that. But to me it’s not the number of wins. It’s the wins against who. With a few cupcakes and being a top half SEC team you can pretty easily get to 8-9 wins regularly, but still not be sniffing titles or real shots at nattys. Playoffs last year? Sure that’s great. But we never truly had a shot.

And yes there is the group (you being in that group) who seems to get very upset when people criticize anything when it comes to coaching, or poses the question - is Heup a next level coach?

Everyone’s fandom is a bit different. It’s really not that deep or serious.
I'm not upset at other opinions

"Man I hope Heupel finally beats UGA, or Banks really needs to get the defensive schemes on 3rd down fixed even with injuries" That's great I agree or at least understand the frustrations.

It's when EVERY single post by a poster is:

"Heupel sucks and is never going to win a road game"
"Heupel isn't a championship coach and never will be"
"Yea he beat Bama, LSU, Florida, Clemson, etc. but so what?"
"UT definitely is going 7-5, Vandy is much better with a better QB"
"Our coaching staff is the worst ever, i wish we had someone like (Brian Kelly, Clark Lea, Alex Golesh, Cignitti or any other coach who really hasn't accomplished as much either)"

It's not only dumb opinions not founded in fact, it's over the top negativity without any real logical insight...and for someone to purport to be a "fan", when 95% of your posts are all the above, it sticks out hard.

Am i happy at 8 wins? No, a truly successful season at UT is 9-3 or better in most cases, are there years (1994, 2006, etc) where circumstances would dictate that a 3 or 4 loss season was still successful due to injuries or otherwise? sure
Well said.

We were 1 play away (Nico out of bounds @ AR) from playing in the SECCG last year and made the 12 team playoff, we're competing for championships.

I was predicting anywhere between 8-4 to 10-2 before the season. My biggest hope/concern for this season has been 9-3 and keeping the 2026 recruiting class together. This year we finally cracked the magic percentage of the blue chip ratio. Let's keep the upward trajectory going and start closing the gap.

NIL making the players paid professionals is a strawman when used to justify player critique. The price to criticize didn't change with NIL. Vote with your wallet if your hangup on NIL is that bad. Voting with your wallet is the only way your criticism can effect NIL.

At least we still have a quiet confidence. And are thinking we’ll get 'em next time, boys and don’t fret, we still have next week.
