We ready to admit Lagway sucks?

Well, sorta. But I’m more in the group that thinks his poor play is due to coaching malpractice. For starters, he’s 250lbs. What idiot thought that was a good idea? He needs to be around 225-230, and any head coach worth a damn would manage that. His extra weight has led to a bunch of soft tissue issues (hamstring, calf) and he isn’t running the ball at all, not even trying. He was a running phenom in HS.

Napier also apparently had no issue at all with Lagway having ZERO live reps throughout spring/summer/fall, zero. His first reps were game 1. Some of this falls on the player himself, but his entire offseason and start of this season has been completely blown, mostly by coaching incompetence. And don’t even get me started on the play-calling.

Think what a Dan Mullen, or Lane Kiffin or Josh Heupel could do with a healthy DJ Lagway.

Absolutely nothing but love for Tony V, no matter what he decides to do. I personally think he’s better suited for college because of his recruiting chops, but the man is a relentless worker so hard to imagine him not being a success in the MLB if he goes.

I don’t think Lagway sees the field. He can for sure have some highlights when that first read or quick second is available, but he’s been incredibly overrated (he’s not the only one).

Also don’t think having Napier has done any favors but Mertz looked pretty good. So I’m inclined to think more of this falls on Lagway.

How ballsy would it be for SEC to send Williamson to another prime time game after that debacle last week? If they do, that will fully confirm they aren’t even trying to hide it anymore.

I can’t completely disagree. He has games and moments where he looks spectacular. Has games and moments where he looks awful. I don’t hold anything against any player until Billy Napier is gone.
