The Official Tennessee Titans thread IV

Hire Mike McCarthy and be done with it.

It's not that hard.........
Someone like McCarthy might be what the Titans need. He’s at least a veteran head coach who has a fairly good track record. The GM has a lot of work to do to improve this roster. Hopefully they can take advantage of the high draft picks this terrible record will produce.

Read where the raiders said the only player we have worth a 💩 is Simmons. Thanks Callahan for setting us back and destroying this team. Guess we will see Sunday if we have any fight.

The one positive of firing Callahan now is that we could get the interim bump to give us a chance against the Patriots.

The only thing that might stop that is does MM want to walk into such a dysfunctional organization? He’s 61 and a Super Bowl winning coach he doesn’t have to coach again if he didn’t want to. The only thing that makes this job attractive right now is ability to develop Cam and have a high draft pick again.

we also play in the worst division of NFL.....making the playoffs is not a great thing
It's not always the worst division in the NFL. The Colts had Peyton for most of our existence and they were 2nd best team in the AFC for over a decade. Then they had Andrew Luck for about 6 seasons. The Texans were really good with Watson before his injury/massage scandal. Before that they were good with Schaub. The Jags have mostly been garbage with some good seasons sprinkled in every few years.

3 of the 4 AFC South teams have appeared in the AFC Championship Game since 2014 with Houston being the only holdout.

What’s wild to me about that is how so many NFL teams never step out of their comfort zone. Seems we’ve only hired west coast guys since Fisher. I may have forgotten someone in between who doesn’t fit that mold

Vrabel is an Ohio guy that we hired from Houston, Mularkey is from FL and was coaching in Pittsburgh and then Jacksonville before us
True. I didn't consider Mularkey because he played for San Fran. I took "west coast" guy as someone from Cali or came up in a west coast style of play.

Hopefully a new coach and another draft class under Borganzi will go along way in increasing the talent on roster.

Looking back on this past springs draft. For the most part the top 6 picks in Rds. 1-4 have all shown flashes Ward (1), Oladejo (2), Dike (4), Ayomanor (4). the only exception is Safety Kevin Winston Jr. (3) and TE Gunnar Helm (4).

I think Oladejo is a bust. Really have no clue what we saw in him
