I'm feeling good about this Saturday

Press man and blitz the heck outta them and let the chips fall where they may. They play zone/ prevent and its death by a thousand cuts but it's still death. Go down swinging. You know you're gonna get the shaft from the zebras so go all in.
I think we see less of Tealander and more of Perlotte just because of cover skills.

We won’t beat them in Tuscaloosa. You do realize penalties enforced last week were 10-1. Wait until Saturday. The proportion of penalties won’t be as bad, but they will come at critical times in drives to help them and hurt us. Also, Bama has not lost a home SEC game in over 10 years according to Google (roughly 40 games) and they have the nation’s longest home winning streak. Over the course of their 10-game streak against us in Tuscaloosa, the games are not close. I live in Alabama and they usually play one of their top two games of the year against us. Sadly, we lose by double digits again.
Their last SEC home loss was in 2019 to LSU

We've kind of been in a slump the last few games and we always seem to have bounce back games after stinkers and this Saturday is the perfect opportunity for us to get right. The coaches and players know how big this game is for our aspirations as a program and we've had success against Bama in recent years so confidence shouldn't be an issue in this game. People have noted that Heupel even seemed somewhat fiery when he gave his press conference on Monday. I think we'll see a different team come out of the locker room Saturday in terms of focus and intensity. Just a gut feeling. And no I'm not drinking. I'm about to start a graveyard shift. Go Vols! WGWTFA!
That feeling will disappear after you watch our D for a series. Happens to me every week

IMO we don't have the defense to beat the real good teams.....And we have to claw to beat the average teams like Miss St and Ark.
Not true, man. The defense played good enough to beat Georgia decisively in regulation. The offense didn't put the game away when it had chances and then we couldn't make a 30-yard field goal. Plus - and here's my main point - you definitely have a chance to win when your defense is causing turnovers and scoring somewhat consistently on top of that. People forget that and just look at worthless stats. Our defense gives up yards but more than makes up for it by making huge plays.

We are a different team away from Neyland and have been for the last two decades. I don’t expect that to change on Saturday.

Nah, when it comes to coaching staff and starters, Heupel is like a dog with a bone. He's not letting go. Tealander starts. Perlotte will spell him until the second half when the targeting punishment ends. Question being....will it matter at that point? We aren't known for great second halfs against the tide.

Not me. I guess I was jaded by our sack and turnover numbers, but our passing defense is not doing too hot right now. in fact, they're ranked dead last in the SEC. This, plus Ty Simpson at home, has me thinking Saturday might be a rough one for Big Orange.

Love the optimism and I hope we beat them down also but after a few series I think most people change their opinion. If you forgot about our defense just go back and watch the SEC teams we played and how bad they gashed us.

I try to be a positive guy, but until our defense starts playing better I have no confidence in any of our remaining SEC games except Kentucky. Not saying we’ll lose them all. Just no confidence. I fear Saturday will be a discouraging embarrassment.

With the better teams, we seem to always play them close.

In a close game, I question whether we have the discipline or the coaching smarts to make the right decisions.
Penalties, game strategy, clock management. We got little chance of winning this one if it is close. VDS?

Well maybe we do to bama what they did to ga and break that home win streak. It would be very nice to pi$$ them off

I'm 100% numb for this game. Been a Vol fan my whole life and us winning in Tusksareloosa happens as often as, as often as....... Hmmm, let's just leave it as not very often.

Go Vols - give it your all!

We've played 1 real good team, UGA with their QB making his first road start.....and we lost. That's a fact up to this point. You can get back to me if we beat Bama Saturday.
