Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

Probably not much with that powerstroke in it. I'd definitely be swapping that engine out and I know it would be at least $5k to do it how I'd want it. Too much of a pita, I think. . . plus I've already got 40 other piles of junk waiting for me to do something with them, 😂
You would take out a 7.3 powerstroke? Seriously? Got 2 of them now and absolutely bulletproof! Much better than the 6.0, 6.7 ever were and they pull the enclosed trailers and cars just fine. Had 2 previously that had 500k and still going strong today, we just wanted some lower mileage ones so one has 170k and the other a 1st year 1994.5 7.3 with 112k. Now the early year 7.3 weren’t very good but those 1994.5-2003 were really good. Also by the way, the 7.3l powerstrokes go for a lot of money! I’ve been offered 10k for mine and wouldn’t come close to taking that, unless we go with a Toterhome I’d never get rid of it.

Since we have similar reading tastes apparently, any recommendations?
Not of late. I have had little time to read fiction for several years now, sadly. When I have had the chance, I returned to some old favorites like King's The Stand (that took a while again lol), LoTR, 1984, Narnia series, Neverwhere by Gaiman. (Have you read that? If not... Do!)

I'll probably reread some old Clive Barker next year after early retirement.

Weaveworld... Imajika...

You ever read those? OMG? (Being Barker, there's some fairly graphic eroticism in there if I remember correctly. But worth skimming or skipping it, to get the rest of the prose.) He was (is?) a master at dark fantasy.

Edited:

Also, thinking of starting GoT. I loved what I saw of the series, but stropped watching due to the sex. IMO, it was basically porn. I hear that that is much less forefront in the books, so I think I'd enjoy it. Rumor I've heard is that the energy put into showing sex in the series, was spent describing food in the books. (Everyone has to have their passions, lol.)

Also the #1 team on the list by far is LSU and I only ever hear the league is slanted for Bama and/or UGA. We adding in LSU to the theory now?

2nd and 3rd are USCe and UK (glanced this time, apologies if I’m getting that wrong). Where do they fit into the corruption of who is rewarded night games?
Folks forgetting (quickly) the major SEC games on CBS were 3:30. We got a lot of those.

The USC and UKs got night games...because they were basically garbage games.

LSU for obvious reasons gets a lot of night games and always will. Seeing all those drunks go ballistic...it just warms the heart.

Have a Neil Gaiman book I just threw in the trash. No thanks.

Skip Bayless said this?
Douche Bag

"There is no way Travis Hunter should’ve chosen to be baptized on the morning of a game. He is losing interest. He is mentally checking out on the Jags."
Some things are way way bigger than football, Skippy. This is the biggest.

Stardust was my entry into Gaiman (that's a gross phrasing), but I quickly discovered Neverwhere and loved it. Then read everything Gaiman.

Turns out he's a scummy guy too, though he actually got canceled for it lol.

We do have similar tastes though. I've heard good things about Barker and also Glen Cook. I'll do some more digging on Barker for sure.

When you retire, if you like dark fantasy, and you appreciate higher, dense, complex/complicated literature, you have to try Malazan. Commit to it for the first 4 books, then dump it if you still don't like it, but don't start it unless you're willing to read at least the first 4. It's changed the way I view and evaluate all other fiction, not just fantasy.

Faith is something ya can't "attack"
Piss poor look on him...........JMO

with all the crap in this world....this should be commended............not attacked.

Daniel gatreuax is probably the fairest I've seen. He's absolutely the dweebiest of all P4 officials and definitely got swirlies as a kid, but I've never watched a game of his and thought "wow he's awful or biased."
PASS INTERFERENCE.... . AGAIN
