Maybe quit doing this and folks will back off... this is Jr high pathetic

To read the experts on here it is the fault of players and injuries, when as you say this is bad Jr. HS pathetic.

Next the same experts make excuses the players did not line up correctly or cover well when it is physically impossible, yet, the coaches see this alignment in the booth and on the sidelines. They can signal for a TO. Notice they rarely if ever call TO on defense. That's because they are lining up correctly and as called.

Again, it is so frustrating to have such an explosice, good offense and trot this crap out there on D.

All I know is Tim Banks better have his butt on the sideline calling the game. . . 👀. We magically got better when he came out of the booth. Maybe it's not the reason, but why risk it when it could help?

I 100 % agree. If my $2 M a year job was on the line you bet I would be on the sideline. There would be focus, intensity and discipline. Calling crap the entire first half and fourth quarter would not be in my best interest either.

30 years ago today..........

I’ve always wished I was old enough back then to watch that era of TN football. But then again, maybe this era will shape up to be even better? 👀
I’m ready to watch the legend unfold this weekend. I’ve got a similar feeling as I did in ‘22. We can beat anybody.

That really is crazy...I hate James Franklin, and he has flaws as a coach...but he has had several great seasons there. Those are two BAD losses which IMO were a result of nutpunch Oregon loss, but how do you just forget 10+ years of being very productive in two weeks?

I hope they tailspin into the sucky football hell we lived in for over a decade...that is what they deserve for this.
That’s what they have deserved since they were complicit in a pedophole raping young boys using their facilities for decades.

Did he stay on the sideline the entire second half or did he go back up after they got the headsets working? I was thinking that if he was on the sideline the entire third quarter when the defense is playing really well, then he needs to keep his butt down there on the sideline.

rap was gangster, people wore suits to work, tweed was a thing, elbow grease. you answered the thing in the effing wall. you worked up the courage to talk to a girl, orange people sang Oompa Loompa. and William Jefferson, Peyton, and Al

no man buns, no cursive name tats, bulls wore nose rings, millenial was a time.

only thing is the same, Alabama still sucks.

think this has been debunked by folks saying banks made the right play calls. issue is we don't have the personnel for it. needs to call to his strengths.

full disclosure, to me sticks is a band from 70's. i have no idea what any of this means
Yes, but it also means that you need to understand your personnel, recruit better at your position group (safety), and call a defense to their strength. The calls have mostly been fine but when your team is horrendous in zone, stop trying to call it and force it. Great coaches scheme around their talent and strengths. Banks does not. Heupel does as we have seen.

You guys are nuts if you think there's any heat whatsoever on Tim Banks right now. Mercy. He's a year removed from being one of 5 Broyles Award finalists in the country and his current defense ranks really high in all sorts of important metrics. It's crazy any of you think there's any heat on him. We are 5-1 in large part THANKS to our defensive effort to date.

I've asked several times if he went back to the booth, but no one seems to know.

Now orange people rule the world. . .

I was more talking about the era of UT football but I appreciate your sentiment lol

I was born in mid 90s so I do remember some crazy stuff from back then. What was up with the commercials back then anyway? There was always some loud aggressive guy trying to get me to buy Doritos or something. Crazy times.

They are most certainly feast or famine. It’s ok to say that a unit is not performing well and the play of the linebackers and safety is not good. When Volquest even says the backend is bad then you know it’s bad. It’s not always sunshine and rainbows and people are valid in saying the defense is not playing well as a unit right now. Doesn’t mean we aren’t doing some good things too though. DL is still wreaking havoc. And we are getting turnovers and stops when needed.

I wouldn’t mind us just simplifying things for the defense and play fast, free, and violent this Saturday. Let that havoc reign. With an offense like ours you can win every game. Just cause a few turnovers and let’s bring it home.
Anything but that 10 yards off the ball crap. I’d rather die and go down blitzing rather than letting them gash us all night.

Edit: Jam Miller is also not expected to play, per my Gump loving coworkers. That will help tremendously. They will have to throw to beat us. I’m hoping we get a game from them similar to their FSU game where they can’t establish the run and go 3 and out a bunch. The more time our offense is on the field the better.

Wasting time. Talking to a wall.

Just curious, what was the penalty situation in the '22 game? That one actually felt honestly called. I would also be curious about the different crews in the different games.
17 for 130 yds against Bama

Vs

6 for 39 yds against us

I definitely remember Bama fans felt much differently 🤣 Mmm those tasty whiny tears sure did taste good!

Why do we have to listen to a Bammer call this game? Do you not have anyone else? Prob will have Bammer refs too.
I may be seeing from a selection bias perception, but it seems they are more likely to have alumni call games. Such as how often Dane calls our bball games. Peyton needs to get in the daggum booth lol
