But did he give the home crowd a bye as well?

Unfortunately the crowd never really had a reason to get into it. They ran the ball right down our throats and scored on the first drive. What’s the point of getting super loud for the defense when it doesn’t make a difference?

Starting to really doubt JH for long term. No doubt he's a great offensive mind, but his overall management is lacking. Team is so undisciplined and it shows at the most critical times during the game. His in-game management at times when the game is tight has been atrocious, and for them to come out and look rusty several times in his time here after a bye week is just maddening. I don't look for him to fire any staffers after the season, but I think if he's gonna make it here long term he's gonna have to because we will lose at least a couple more games this year solely becsuse of this defense.

Didn’t practice sealing the edge that’s for sure. That all out blitz was a good call but everyone blitzed up the middle and left the edge wide open for green

One guy took a bad angle. You’re attempting to make an absurd meta narrative based off on bad play. It’s ignorant. Contain hasn’t been a big issue today.

Another wasted friggen possession. We absolutely suck.
Heupels decision making is what sucks, spike the ball stop the clock and try to get points...instead he trys to rush a play with the clock running after the spot and a false start kills any chance at points..I know..I know..he knows more than me but he costs us points every single close game we have due to scared playcalling and terrible clock management

It’s not just Banks

A lot of position mistakes. I don’t think that the defensive play calls are especially bad but it’s the execution and the fundamentals. I liked the all out blitz but rule number one is you always leave two of the edge. We had Green dead to rights and completely screwed that up. Would’ve stopped a touchdown drive.

Hopefully our defensive players decide to take it on themselves to make some plays the 2nd half.

Don't expect much from the coaches in the way of adjustments.
Petrino is an elite OC / play caller. At this point in the season, you are what you are.

We give up chunk plays on the ground. We don’t stop the run well / we lose contain A LOT. We have one decent corner / our other corner is young and our safety play is neutral at best / really bad at worst. AC is our only SEC caliber LB. He’s probably conference average to a little better than average. Telander is simply too slow / not a good tackler. The defense overall is a poor tackling defense.

The singular thing this defense does well is sack the QB and create turnovers.

The formula to win is score a TD out of half / get a turnover . . . Score another TD and get a two score lead.

But outside of turning them over . . . There is ZERO reason to believe we stop them at all. They can run at will.

Bama will score 50 plus on this defense.

Negative. You’re pissed because you tried calling me out earlier in the thread thinking that you were cute and it didn’t work; so now I’ve got the “target” on me. I’ve seen you do the same thing with other posters as well. They’ve ran outside several times this game and gotten big gains. Petrino studied film and knew where to attack.

That’s what’s ignorant.
