President Donald Trump - J.D. Vance Administration

Jesus sees that y'all voted for this

Well, I don't vote and I would have to guess to what people voted for but...

And you might want to tell those children you are harboring that they too can be arrested for interfering.

these people are crazy…wtf?!?

I don’t care what party or anything else. The original comment is sick and these defenses of it are sick with a large icing of hypocrisy on top. No wonder our nation is so messed up if this is what are “leaders” condone and the electorate votes for. Disgusting and evil.

After publicly condemning Jones’ texts, Virginia House Speaker Don Scott, D-Portsmouth, spent Sunday campaigning in Coyner’s district. Speaking to parishioners at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Hopewell, Scott urged voters to keep their attention on the broader stakes of the election.

“We have to be mature in our thinking and how we vote
,” Scott said. “We can’t get distracted, because they want us to get distracted by the text message here or something else. Stay focused.”

State Sens. Louise Lucas of Portsmouth and Mamie Locke of Hampton released a joint statement describing the comments as “deeply disturbing” but warned against allowing the controversy to overshadow the stakes of the November election.

“There is no place for political violence or violent rhetoric in our public discourse,” they wrote. “Jay must take accountability for his actions. But we will not allow this moment to distract from the urgent fight we are in for Virginia’s future.”

The senators credited Jones for his service as a legislator and assistant attorney general, calling him “a father raising two young boys” who “has demonstrated the character and compassion the Office of Attorney General deserves.”

While that is some crazy infringement, you surely don't think the developed this in the last 8 months. That ain't the maga pals, that is patriot act folks.

This isn't MAGA doing it to us. It's old legislation doing it to us.

Actually, the PATRIOT Act should have nothing to do with this. The PATRIOT Act was about collecting metadata and business records for counter-terrorism purposes. We still mostly unlocked phones with search warrants in America. Did you just make up a fake point to defend the indefensible?

What is indefensible?

It isn't the legislation that is doing it. It is the result of us willingly giving up civil liberties to feel safe. You may want to ask your AI buddy this question.... "What civil liberties did we give up with the patriot act?" It wasn't just business records and metadata. That is how we got to the point that people aren't jumping up and down about the gov. being able to hack our phones legally. Trump's admin( at least this one) isn't the one that developed this software ,so you tell me, Where did this start?

So many countries provide health care for their citizens, why can't the United States?

Well, if you stop the scams, you really shouldn't need someone to pay for it. The issue is the anti-trust medical industry, nobody wants to address it or put people in jail. Or bankrupt a good portion of the U.S.

Who cares where you think it started, tho? You are completely missing the point by harping on this. Expansion of executive power is bad, and every time I point it out, somebody is there to cry somebody/something else is to blame for the actions of the guy currently in office.

He's not the first person to expand powers
is not an argument for Trump expanding powers like this. It's not an argument against blaming MAGA for what's happening right now.
