Even if somehow we win out there is a good chance we don't make the SEC championship game becasue Texas teams get soft schedules. Texas A&M avoids Georgia, Alabama, Ole Miss, Oklahoma, and Tennessee the top 5 teams in the SEC. We know ND is an average team, we know LSU is an average team, we know Texas is a bad team, and I suspect Missouri is average but we will find out this coming Saturday.

Win out and we are in. That simple.

It’s easy in hindsight to say that A&M has an easy schedule. No one thought that at the beginning of the year. Florida, LSU, and Texas not being as good as everyone thought they would makes it look easy.

if we are 11-1 we will make the SEC title game

if we are 10-2 we have a shot

but all we really care about this point is the playoffs, 10-2 gets us there as long as the loss isn't to New Mexico St, but since some here think we will lose 4 games it's gonna be "tough" 😂

Ole Miss and A&M do not play each other, and we play neither of them. If we all win out, Ole Miss would be 8-0, A&M would be 8-0 and we would be 7-1. And it would be Ole Miss vs A&M in the title game.

We do not control our destiny when it comes to the SEC championship game. We need someone to beat Ole Miss or A&M and someone to beat Georgia.

Are you saying because we didn’t control our destiny and go 12-0 we should be mad that an 11-1 finish might not get us a trip to Atlanta?

If Heupel didn’t clam up vs Georgia, we aren’t having to rely on other teams right now as we would be 5-0

I'd like to be in that situation.... complaining about not making the playoffs if we were to win out. Yeah, I'd like to be in that spot when the dust settles.

I don't get where some of you are getting ... if we are 11-1, we are in the SEC game. Other teams must lose.

Now Georgia could beat Ole Miss. Someone could beat A&M, we could beat Bama and we could have a five-way tie of teams at 7-1 (Ole Miss, A&M, Georgia, Bama and Us). I have no idea who makes the SEC title game if that happens.

Ole Miss would have to beat both UGA and Oklahoma so UGA would be out
Texas A&M would have to win 3 straight road games at Arky, LSU and Mizzou..and then beat Texas too...not likely

What you are saying "could" happen but not likely at all...

If we are 7-1 in the SEC we have the tie breaker over everyone else (except UGA obviously)

Yep. The hammer falls on us all. Can't believe the SEC let the Big 10 shame them into cannibalizing themselves. They get a far easier road to the playoffs from now on. Stupid SEC...stupid.
not really...in the 16 team playoff, a 9-3 SEC team gets in regularly...

The SEC and Big Ten will soon have 10-12 of the 16 playoff spots every year

11-1 with a win at Bama would easily have us at 4-6 range. Conference title games won’t likely change much.

If we go 11-1, I just don’t see how we aren’t in the Top 5 at minimum if not Top 4.

We got a favorable schedule compared to the other SEC schools in front of us. Ole Miss plays OU so one of them will have a loss. I refer OU in that one to lose.

We need enough consolidation among teams we have on our schedule.

I think both Ole Miss and A&M have just as good a chance to win out as we do.

I think it's more likely we beat Bama on road and Oklahoma at home than Ole Miss beating Oklahoma and UGA on the road..

Also Texas A&M winning 3 straight road games is a little more likely than the Ole Miss scenario but we shall see

Too many people are stuck in the BCS era of thinking 1 loss and you're done...their thinking hasn't involved to the new college football fully

11-1 with a win at Bama is something I would gladly take while getting to Miss Atlanta.

I have zero problem if we never play in Atlanta again. It’s a meaningless game.

Not trying to argue for the sake of arguing; but that is a very tough schedule if you look at it at the beginning of the year. Any SEC team that survive the full season undefeated, deserves their spot. These schedules are set years in advance.

I'm not "worried" I'm mad becasue its more so about how Texas teams get soft schedules. They literally avoided the Top 5 teams in the SEC, or at least the Top 4.
All of that changes next year with the 9 SEC game schedule. I don't worry about stuff I can not change. I have too much to worry about with the things I do have some input in the decision making.

to me its a benefit to not play in the SEC championship game. Get more time to heal injuries and eliminate chances for more injuries headed into the playoffs.
