Exactly, we should've hosted a playoff game vs SMU according to actual rankings...Thank God they got rid of that dumb rule.

But in no way were we "borderline" playoff last year

I just canā€™t wait to see the threads Next year when we all realize that with the 9 game SEC schedule that Sankey Fā€¦ED the league because next year the SEC will be lucky to get 3 in and the big10 will laugh all the way to the bank.

If you are arguing that every 10-2 SEC team doesnā€™t get in this year, how will it be with next years 9 game SEC scheduleā€¦LOL

The winners will stay put regardless of who they beat and how that team looks 3 or 4 game later. The only way those teams drop is when they lose.

Will the CFP poll do better? We will know when the first one comes out.

We play two of the teams that are currently projected ahead of us, OU and Bama. We lost to one above us, Georgia and we don't play the other two. Win out and we have a good shot, not a guarantee, but a good shot.

Two losses with only 2 other SEC teams with 2 or less losses - yes. We need a lot of the other SEC teams to end up with 3 losses if we incur that second one.

if UGA wins the SEC
and any four of UT, Bama, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Texas A&M, LSU are 10-2 they will get in...Mizzou is the only possible 10-2 SEC team that would get left out in certain scenarios because of their schedule

SEC will get 5 teams if they have 5 10-2 or better teams
Big Ten will get 3-4 teams
ACC and Big XII champs are in
G5 welfare spot

Personally, I don't see the Big Ten getting more than three, especially if Oregon beats Indiana next weekend. If Indian loses @Oregon and @Penn St, they would be at best 10-2 with the only even remotely decent win on their resume being home against Illinois. If Penn St. loses to Ohio State again, they are out for sure with three losses. It is possible that the Big Ten only gets two this year, depending upon how the rest of the year shakes out and how many 10-2 or better SEC teams there are and with the possibility of the ACC getting a second team in.

if Indiana and USC go 10-2 i bet they get in..

Indiana will only be left out if Notre Dame goes 10-2 but i don't see that...

the other possibility is the ACC runner up getting in at 10-3 or 11-2

I don't think a SEC team gets in this year at 9-3 no matter who it is
