Texas @ Florida

Arch Manning has to be the most overhyped average to below average QB ever. I feel a bit sorry for him. If his name were Zeke Strunk he'd be about as well known as Wyoming's QB right now.

Jimmie Clausen and Chris Simms already has thank you cards in the mail to Arch.

Obviously I have no idea, but I agree.

Kiffin only leaves OM for Alabama.
I don't believe Cignetti leaves Indiana and the big for fla. Harder to get in the playoffs.
I see gaters making another chit hire.

Im probably wrong, but thats my opinion and hopes.

Oh, and I ain't worried about where Kiffin goes. Hes nothing special.
Kiffin would leave for Bama or Texas. He would be insane to leave for Florida. Ole Miss is actually perfect for Lane; he could retire and have statues built there if he just achieves the same general level of success every year there.

Arch enters the portal. Heup gets him and in this system he ends up being Peyton 2.0 except he can run, and we win the Natty and Heisman.

That’s kind of how I see this shaping up
Would be interesting to see what Heupel could do with him but we have GMac and an incoming Brandon as well. Those are two five star QBs. Idk that Arch would want to compete with them.

There is no curse.
There absolutely is. It's very similar to how Georgia under Kirby Smart always shards the bed against Bama despite having better teams most years this decade. That's how we've been against Florida for over 20 years. Even when we have a vastly superior team and should win comfortably it ends up being a loss or a narrow escape with a win. It's similar to how Georgia always gets up for us even though they sleepwalk through non conference games and most SEC games and how we always show up and play great against Kentucky. Some teams just have other teams' number and for years Florida has had ours.

First time I can ever remember not wanting Florida to lose a game. I didn't want Florida to win, mind you, but I wanted Texas to lose. I'm equally pleased about Penn St crapping the bed at UCLA.
It's similar to how I felt about Bama beating Candy. I never celebrate Bama winning, but I loved seeing Pavia get his comeuppance after hearing him run his mouth all year

They are. We will be in an absolute dogfight there
Eh, their offense is still highly questionable to me. Though Dallas Wilson seems to be a beast. And they still nearly snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. They had a 15 point lead with a little over 5 minutes left and had just got the ball back. And Texas then got 2 more possessions in the next 4 minutes with a chance to tie it in the end.

There has rarely been a point that UGA has had a better team than Bama. And certainly if they did, the difference was negligible.

Granted you would still expect some of those games to swing to UGA given a similar talent level. But Saban is the GOAT for a reason. And the last 2 years, UGA's top tier talent was waned a bit.

Yeah Im not sure I agree with all that, but to your point, "Having a teams number" aint a curse.

Why? They spice the sport up.

Well, as asinine as they are, here we are talking about them.

I'm not sure how much of a factor these stupid rankings are with regard to the playoff - does the idea of "quality wins" come into play with where a team was ranked when another team beat them? Or does a win over a "top 5" team like Penn State or Texas lose some of its meaning if they end up ranked from #15-20?

There's one poster here who is berating anyone who puts any stock into these rankings, and the video of the nitwit woman who ranked Florida higher after a loss or something is pretty damning and comical. I would hope that they mean nothing at the end of the day.

Is Arch Manning's stats really that bad? Or is it that folks expected him to walk on water because of his last name?

I do wonder though if he is in the right offense for his skill set.
