Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

I don’t think pre season polls are as much of a mistake as allowing the people who do vote on polls in general to do so. It should be people who: actually watch football and are knowledgeable of football, know anything about the teams they are voting on… well yeah let’s just start with that.

Like maybe the lead beat writer for every team. Or every teams head coach or athletic director. Or the top 25 most followed college football columnists. Or basically anything but whatever system they are currently using. That one random twitter girl being exposed for not knowing anything about football and having no knowledge of the sport or reasoning for why she voted the way she did, I imagine is unfortunately not the only instance of such ineptitude.
The beat writers are a problem. They spend so much time following their team that they don’t watch other football. She was a beat writer.

Both can be true- start rankings after week 3 and use voters who watch all teams.

42pts and Nico still didn't go over 200yds (166), 6.9yd avg.

He did rush well. 128yds, 8yd avg, 3 tds. Maybe he should switch to RB. He'd actually probably be a decent wr.
He still starts running when he feels slight pressure. He started running a few times when he had guys breaking open. Also, when teams blitz, his hot routes are open.

Stricklin does not look like a guy about to fire his coach. He looks relieved he doesn't have to.
