Windy's football discussion thread.

I just can't imagine.

“He’ll shoot me a text or shoot me a call,” said Aguilar when asked about his relationship with Peyton. “Just to have a guy like that supporting you, you know, he’s been through this. He’s been through the NFL, and had a great, successful life in football. It’s awesome to know that if I have a question, if I want to know what he thinks in certain situations, that I can call [him], is truly helpful.”

The UT Vols Have Turned A Key Weakness Into One Of Their BIGGEST Strengths...

Colton Hood says he didn’t know much about Tennessee before committing to the Vols

Hood appeared on The Players Lounge Tennessee this week and he admitted that he didn’t know much about UT before arriving in Knoxville earlier this spring.

Specifically, the former Colorado defensive back didn’t realize how passionate Tennessee fans can be.

“That was crazy,” said Hood of seeing so many Vols fans in Starkville last weekend. “I’ve never seen anything like that — at an away game that was sold out. They talked about how the game is gonna be sold out. You’re thinking it’s gonna be mostly Mississippi State [fans] — the whole sideline on our side was orange. And then you got people up in the top in orange. That’s crazy.

“I didn’t know really too much about Tennessee before coming here, but just seeing the fan base and how crazy they are for us, like, that’s crazy. It’s mad love. It also makes you want to play harder. Like, bro, these people came out of their way to come see us. They came all the way to Starkville, Mississippi.”

"History is certainly on Tennessee’s side in this debate."

Lol, after watching the video of Vince then Dobbs, Smith and Mays, how could you feel anything but sorry for Vince?

Texas was one of the teams I liked to follow along with Oregon. I liked Vince Young as a QB when he was at Texas. I wanted to be a Titans fan at the time and hoped he was going to give me a reason to.

We all know how that ended. Not just with Vince and the Titans. Texas joining the SEC. Fawk Texas now.

Former Vols OC David Cutcliffe shares his opinion on how Josh Heupel has taught Joey Aguilar to play QB at Tennessee

Cutcliffe credited the strong offensive system that Heupel has installed at Tennessee as the top reason why Aguilar has been able to quickly find success on Rocky Top.

"They are a very systematic offense,” said Cutcliffe. “You got a coach (Heupel) that played that position, and I coached against him as a quarterback. They were very systematic on offense. We beat them in a bowl game* right before they just ran the table and won a national championship, and it was predictable. I think [Heupel] understands what you have to do, and know, to be successful as a quarterback.

“The young man (Aguilar) came in there hungry. I watched them practice as well.....
