It reminded me of Peyton Manning’s first drive ever against UCLA in 1994. It was 3rd and 1, and in classic Peyton style, he tried to go fast to confuse UCLA, but it didn’t work. They got stuffed, and Fulmer was not happy.

I think the decision to go, in and of itself, wasn’t a bad idea. Perhaps not the right one, but still justifiable. They just rushed it for no reason and made it doomed to fail. Had they taken it slower and let their players get set properly, I think they’d have most likely gotten the first.

It’s gonna be a big play that beats us, I don’t think they can drive it consistently on us right now. But they can absolutely hit a big play

It was a decent play to try to confuse the D or make them think too much, but we didn’t execute. If you’re gonna do that it has to be second nature, not confusion. We weren’t prepared to do that at all!

Dang it. I wanted Alabama to be ranked below Vanderbilt next week for a week of hilarity leading into that game.

UGA can’t seem to get out of its own way tonight though.

Bama’s going to just bleed the clock after this first down.

Had UGA taken the FG on 4th and 1, this would be a tie game with both teams currently trying to figure out the win.

That is an absolutely terrible call. It was a defensive player trying to make a play. The play was not clearly over. It looked like Simpson was surging ahead when the UGA corner jumped. Absolutely terrible.
